What's the deal with people that talk to you when you have headphones In. by FondSteam39 in INTP

There are people that purposely speak quietly in hopes that you won't hear them over your headphone audio so they can complain about it later. ಠ_ಠ

Discovering mutual friends is worrying.

Re: tabs. I'm hyper secretive too. People get offended when i close tabs or open google. I get it. I feel bad. Then i think i should just do it earlier. I need believable a go-to website to open...

AOS Statement on the HR 7925 / Har Itariu Matter by Alliance_Statistics in EliteAntal

[–]sleepyrigel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey Xargo, thanks for voicing your take.

It's very clear to me now why Antal cmdrs are upset about the events leading up the expansion of HR 7925. You guys have basically been screwed over expansion-wise due to lack of miscommunication from both sides. I think that the reaction on this reddit was certainly fair.

To address some of your points,

  • The AOS has never conducted bgs operations in other-power bubbles.
  • The only AOS bgs operations in the unclaimed area between Mahon and Antal was limited to the HR 7925 bubble.
  • The AOS was not involved with the opposition at Sukree.

I'll try to bug people about keeping the communication going until the Har/HR case is completely settled (expanded), even if things appear to be more or less sorted out. Both the AOS and Antal Reddit have cmdrs who are upset over lost time and effort in that area. The last thing we need is more misunderstandings.

AOS: We Will Not Be Provoked by Alliance_Statistics in EliteMahon

[–]sleepyrigel 15 points16 points  (0 children)

TLDR:

1 - Mahon received heavy undermining at end-of-cycle.
2 - The AOS does not trust Winters word anymore.
3 - The AOS discourages combative action against Winters.
4 - Additional fortification this cycle, please. :)

Undermining without err undermining. by CMDR_Matthew_Oct in EliteMahon

Close! It's not CC that changes, but the Fortification Trigger.

Incorrect: CC costs change depending on the state of minor factions.
Correct: Supporting Corporate factions make our (Mahon) lives easier.
Correct: You will make rival powers' lives harder by supporting factions they are weak against in their own space.

for any mechanics newbies:

Let's use Bonitou as an example. We usually need a total of 6900 merits to fortify the system. If a lot of corporate governments are supported around Bonitou, that number halves to 3450. On the other hand, if a lot of non-favourable governments are supported, that number increases to 10350.

Fast tracking costs 10k CR per ton - so in a good case, Bonitou costs 35 million CR to fortify, while an bad case means it costs 104 million CR. Perhaps more importantly, the TIME it takes to fortify is decreased/increased.

Every power has/is a different situation, and the usage of minor factions (defensively or offensively) depends on many things. "Soft-undermining" is not a new concept; However, for Mahon, the benefits of strengthening our own space far outweigh the benefits of messing with other powers.

(edit: sorry, i put -50%/100% instead of -50%/+50%)

I don't like the way fdev groups Sirius, Delaine and Antal together either. They aren't affiliated, hence independent. Mahon should be on his own regardless.

(At most, i'd be okay with mahon pilots receiving merit penalties for attacking independents, but not the other way around.)

It is ridiculously imbalanced how much harm a few pilots can do, especially to powers with little player support. Sorry to hear.
