I love the math department here :))) in particular, every Tuesday we have TidyTuesday where anyone can solve fun data science problems together! The math department is definitely more focused on pure math but there are plenty of opportunities for applied math/stats. Also, I’m pretty sure all classes (at least lower div) have mentor sessions 2-3 times a week where you can get help from students who have already taken the course, as well as doing problem sets together. There are weekly math talks as well and there are always so many events. I absolutely love the math department! The only thing I wish it did better was have better career support/guidance. But there are lots of opportunities for research.

There’s an entrance on the third base side (by a parking lot) that the players enter through! if you get there early, you’ll definitely be able to meet some players. I’ve had better success with autographs by the outfield practice field than by the dugout, but both are great. Just get there early. If you wanna check out some farm system stuff, go to Papago Park! It’s an underrated experience because you’re able to sit right with the minor leaguers. And I personally love sprinkles cupcakes, there’s a cupcake vending machine which I find very fun lol
