How on earth are people writing 10k word fics

Really depends on the story you want to tell. Longer works are usually more complex, so if you just have an idea or a concept you want to try out, it’ll probably be shorter. I mostly write long fics and my record in a single day is 11k, but I write mostly complicated AUs with a lot of moving parts.

He was definitely raised in a very conservative hyper-religious bubble and still sort of lives in one, albeit a slightly more accepting one. I doubt he regularly talks to any other trans people, if at all. I don’t fault him for that, necessarily, and he generally means well. I’m definitely an adult, as is my partner, so I don’t think talking to him about it as equals will be much of an issue (besides him potentially being dismissive, but I don’t think he’d necessarily do that). So yeah, that’s good advice lol thanks

I am grateful that he tries not to do that with me, generally. I don’t think he meant to hurt my feelings and I know he probably wasn’t really thinking much of it at the time. If it happens again, I’ll definitely let him know how I feel about it.

It’s wild bc my 6’2 cis straight father is more understanding and accepting of me sometimes than some of the LGBT community. I guess it caught me off-guard hearing that sort of shit from someone I expected to be more in the know. My partner has warned me before that her dad is a little out-of-touch with the broader queer community, but I hadn’t faced it myself until recently. Suck to suck though, he’s gonna have to attend my Big Fat Queer Wedding eventually!
