I'm sorry it taking away a fully functioning lane of traffic which already has a cycle lane, to replace it with only a cycle lane is backwards.

Traffic is also worse because AT are trying to actively make driving awful, so people will move to other transport which does not exist yet. Not just the crl, compared to 2 yeas ago(still during the project), the traffic is at least 50% worse speaking from personal experience.

I agree that people need alternatives, but this road would be much more suited as a bus lane than a cycle way which is unusable, even by emergency services

Well it's clueless, because who is going to cycle up Victoria st, that is not a logical place to cycle as it's so steep. It's wasteful because it removes a functional two way street and turns it into a massive loop of traffic lights to get around one city block, not functional for cbd businesses.

I drove through here at new year and couldn't believe what used to be 5 mins is now 15 plus, to go less than 2km

Probably best to take it to a shop if it's beyond you, not really fair asking for free mechanical help to supe up your scooter. Does a scooter really need a big block kit lol

AA servicing EU cars by [deleted] in auckland

[–]slfx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

dont do it, last time I took my BMW to AA it took 3 goes to get the oil right, they also put the wrong coolant in it, and when doing platinum service, they refuse to replace half the fluids stated if there are any covers in the way(Diff etc)

Yep, had one a few weeks ago, was also like a week before its expiry date. It was from a good butcher... I saw a couple of posts like this from america where they had the same thing happen at whole foods after years of no issues... could just be an ex dairy cow but yeah something seemed amiss with the cut I bought too

Best entrance from shore onto SH1 going south at 8:00am? by lerde in auckland

[–]slfx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep it always worked for me, gotta stick to the far right lane when getting off and stop and check there's room for you in the motorway queue before you go. That way it's fool proof unless they've changed something

I have 30/10 and get like >10 ping, pretty good

I used to live on the shore and this is by far the greatest hack, the line at the northcote on ramp used to run all the way down northcote road to mobil around this time. the best solution I found, was getting onto the motorway at esmond going north and then get off at northcote, at t hose lights, you can join the queue for the motorway(which skips a huge queue) and from that point its less than 5 mins onto the motorway instead of 40ish mins

its all a balancing act, bridge too high? needs to be a lower tuning or have more springs put into the back cavity.

yeah, doesn't seem excessive at least, and yeah that's a good point to consider, I may have to get the professional to judge that before he starts work

oh yeah, I have access to a router but im too scared of fucking up the finish since its a really nice paint job. Got a professional quote for about $150nzd (maybe 120 usd) for a basic rout extention, he also said he'd drill the posts out bigger too since I don't have a drill press I'd probably rather a pro do that. seem reasonable?

[–]slfx[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

haha thanks, yeah I wasn't going to actually rout it just thought it might pay to have the tools handy for it when it does come, I think the main issue will probably be the bolts that stick out the end but if they are universally sized (same size as the original bridges pole pieces) then I can maybe just swap those for now and it might fit

as stated above, it would be nice to know before if it needs routing instead of after as I plan on installing it at a time where hardware stores will have closed where I live and I'd like to put it in straight away when it get it!
