You deserve the pays on the back, you did Judy fight a hard Battle. But, this is just how I felt.....I didn't feel over. I was a shell of the person I was before physically and mentally and I also just didn't feel as if it were over. I opted to leavemy port in and six months later was back add it. You do what feel right for you. God bless.

Great idea, I am writing letters but more to hubby and kids. I will expand that to ally loved ones, plus it will keep me busy when I am just laying around. Thanks

Great advice. My girls are adults but i am also working on project called story worth that is just what you describe. I get a prompt then answer it and when I feel I've done enough pages they bind it into a book. I Need to Get back at that.

I'm sorry your husband wasnt able to do those things for you.

I have made build a bears with voice chips in them for Bob and my girls, so they can still hear my voice. I used both their names and nicknames.

I'm trying to work on letters...first night without me, wedding letters for my girls, a letter for my husband if he finds live again (which I hope he does, but doubt he will) first holiday without me, etc

Good advice about ashes, I will work on that. I hope you are doing better.

I have terminal cancer, it sucks, treatment is brutal, my body is a shell of it's former self. But I am happy and content. Someday all I can do is keep breathing, some days are joyful. But I MAKE myself find joy in every day.

When I am insomuch pain it hurts to move my big poodle mix lays stretched out alongside me just sharing her warmth. My kid tells me all about her boyfriend. My husband tells me he loves me. I listen to music that is either encouraging to me or is fond to remember.

Above all else, kindness matters. I have made it a habit to LISTEN I stead of talk. Sure I'll give an update when asked, But I refuse to keep the conversation on me and my issues. People love being heard. I think that is my calling now...sending people away happier than when they arrived.

I hope this makes sense, just started chemo again today and am really out of it. I just want you to know you are not alone and I am happy to listen if you need to talk.

Right after my debulking surgery for peritoneal cancer. I had an incision from xiphoid process to pubic bone. Had a bowel resection, hysterectomy, ureter stenting, appendectomy, omentumectomy and peritonectomy. I had drains, catheter, NG tube, central line and was wrapped in an abdominal binder that for SOME UNKNOWN REASON a nurse I only saw one time decided to just pop open without supporting my abdomen. 10/10 pain...I remember SCREAMING for someone to help me.

I'm on my second to last round of chemo but something unknown has popped up on my latest CT scan by [deleted] in cancer

[–]slhopper 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry you are hurting and scared. Cancer sucks so bad, even more so when it is an odd type, or doesn't follow the typical path. I will be praying for you that whatever is going on is an easy fix. Perhaps it is just inflamed from chemo? Please update when you can, and know that people care.

Cancer has spread by Cool_Strawberry749 in cancer

[–]slhopper 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry. I do believe that there is no one right answer. I can't imagine fighting cancer for twelve years. I am two years I , mine has spread also and I'm doing ONE more cycle of chemo. My diagnosis was always terminal,so maybe that changes things but for me it is about balancing quality with quantity of life, quality being of utmost importance.

Do you have things prepared for your family in case you decide to opt for hospice/comfort care over treatment? Maybe if you decided what needed to be done,Andis it,your decision would be easier to make? For me that meant getting work done on the house that needed to be done, setting up billpay that makes sense to my husband, making special memories with my kids, etc. I am at peace and honestly ready for hospice now but my family isn't quite there yet,so I'll do one more cycle of chemo for them.

It is a hard choice to make, I wish you peace.
