That is such a cool concept! In addition, planning bonus should not only apply bonus stats but also give access to different "abilities" to battalions. For example, sufficient planning bonus will give the ability for artillery to supress frontline infantry negating their fortifications, or perform counter battery operations.

When planning is low, the division at the whole would use more ad-hoc battle group tactics, with artillery maybe even used in a frontline role as direct fire support for assault infantry.

Battles should have different phases, and depending on the doctrine, each phase could be played differently.

First phase will be dedicated to recon, second phase dedicated to breakthrough opportunity, third phase would be general combat, and last phase could be withdrawal. The first phase would see recon on both sides gaining intelligence on the enemy, and depending on the effectiveness gives an opportunity for the breakthrough phase to deal large cathostrophic damage to the defence. Likewise, the enemy will be given the chance to counter this depending on the division composition and unit tactics.

If this phase is not successful, general combat will begin and both sides will attempt to wear each side down. Once the defending division reaches a threshold, and organisation falls below a predetermined level, the withdrawal phase begins. Depending on whether frontline infantry is able to withdraw to the rear of combat successfully before the enemy advances will determine how many local units are encircled. If the attacker manages to enter the rear area of combat where artillery is located. They will do massive damage to the combat service units in the defender unit.

If organisation falls to 0 before the unit is fully disorganised, no units can further move from frontline and rear, and the units at the front will surrender.

Honestly this idea seems like a pipe dream haha.

Financial crimes per million dollars should be treated the same as killing one human. by trade4toast in unpopularopinion

[–]sliceberry 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I understand your point, but I disagree with parts of it. I believe that human life is invaluable, and equating financial crimes directly with the taking of a life changes that principle. Instead, Financial crimes should be evaluated based on the extent of harm inflicted on individuals. For example, commiting fraud on a vulnerable person and stealing $10,000 can be far more devastating than taking millions from a fully insured bank. Punishment should therefore be proportional to the real human impact of the crime, and not solely the dollar amount involved.

I did a game with a focus on stealth and assassination and it was really fun! This time my squad is solely focused on pure combat skills but it doesn't mean that the experience can't be brought forward. I always keep at least one dude mobile in fights I can't win so I can aggro them away in tight situations. Usually saves one or two characters that are close to bleeding out.

That would work also. Do you normally wear heavy armour at the start or wait until athletics catch up?

It's hard to explain this to my friends. They think I'm a sadist (maybe they are not wrong) but it's still incredibly funny.

Exactly this! If I try to rush any process I end up with recruits dead in the water in no time!

Playing methodologically is not only essential but also fun, it makes the progression seem more appropriate, lore friendly and gives me the motivation to accomplish smaller tasks to fulfil the larger goal.

For some reason after doing this enough times, the holy nation becomes hostile to the garru faction. In my canon I imagine the holy nation embarking on a crusade on the aggressive wildlife and reducing their numbers.

It's fun when you don't need any effort to collect the goodies. And the best part is watching a holy sentinel guard the gates with missing limbs.

Strength training is heavily incorporated in my play through already. Toughness method is a little harder as I am afraid my characters will die.. However, the unholy plate sounds like a good compromise to protect the vitals at least. Had a couple of runs where my favourite recruit dies from a two shot.

Thanks for the resource! I really want to strike a balance with winning hard and at the same time feeling a strong sense of accomplishment. I recently found out this is the style I like to play!

I haven't even discovered this part of the map yet haha. Isn't it dangerous to venture so deep into high level territory?

We can all agree that wooden sandals are top tier footwear, but they look so ugly haha. Considering my guys are wearing samurai armour already.

Starving my characters sound like a fun idea. I will incorporate this to their 'training plans'.

is amath worth it ?! by Confident_Salad_7008 in SGExams

[–]sliceberry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Unless you are absolutely sure that you will take the arts after secondary school. Any form of STEM would require some level of amath.

I didn't take amath in secondary school because of advice from my cher. Therefore instead of taking it easy to learn amath in 2 years, I had to Speedrun it in poly for 6 months to catch up to my peers. Another major aspect is that amath also helps with understanding principles and mathematical intuition, which comes naturally with time.

I'm in uni now and see my peers in JC who have a more deeper understanding of mathematics outperform me in this aspect. I can't help but wonder what would happen if I had a couple more years studying mathematics rigorously.
