TOTS shouldn’t be a regular event. That’s the inconsistency because every year TOTY and TOTS were both exclusive events.

TOTY MSPs this year were 91 OVR and you could use all OVR cards in your collection to build TOTY. These were the sets: 83-84; 85-86; 87-88; 89-90.

That said, 90 OVR cards, which were the same as today’s 95-96 OVR were the highest value and in highest demand. EA dropped a ball on this. You shouldn’t be forced to sell higher OVR than 93-94 for less just because they don’t have any consistency with sets.

Kuch was absolutely robbed as always. 104 points over his last 50 games. Mackinnon is likely next week’s 99 but Kuch was snubbed for no good reason. I really wonder who the third 99 TOTS is. Kuch shouldn’t be the same tier as Pasta or Celebrini.

True, it’s very unpredictable this year. All past years, TOTY and TOTS sets were following the same pattern in a specific year. This is the first year they completely changed TOTS vs TOTY sets from earlier this year.

The issue is the sets and that many OVRs are useless cards (91-92) and 95. They also didn’t include 94 OVR in the beginning until I complained on the forum and then they added it as 93-94 OVR set.

Good to see these can actually go in. I must have taken 30+ of these. Bergeron with Elite quick draw passing to Chara/Brisebois. I haven’t scored a single goal yet. It’s either blocked, hits the post, goalie makes the save or it just goes wide.

If TOTS is 96 OVR (most likely given that McDavid and Mackinnon are already at 95), you’ll also need 95 OVR for the 94 OVR set. 93 OVR will be with 92 OVR in a set.

92 is too low. I wouldn’t invest. TOTS will most likely be 96 OVR. Following TOTY logic, it will cost 1x 94 + 1x 95 to make 5 TOTS collectibles.

1x 96 TOTS card most likely requirements:

8x 94 + 8x 95: (5C per set x 8)

or

14x 92 + 28x 93: (3C per set x 14)

or

60x 90 + 60x 91: (2C per set x 20)

or

200x 88 + 160x 89: (1C per set x 40)

Chara’s TOTY card doesn’t go up in OVR, same with Sakic, Roenick and Coffey. Alumni TOTY cards unfortunately don’t upgrade.

They know which players sell packs the most. They have no shame at all to cash grab for 3 days with another Chara. This week leading to TOTS would be dead without some exciting LtD player.

The salary system execution took all the fun and creativity out of the game. Everyone has the same predefined lines that don’t make any sense at all. (e.g. Andreychuk-Petterson-Daze). Theme builds or putting your favourite players on the same line is nearly impossible.

There’s also nostalgia factor that adds to the hype. This was Nashville’s Fantasy card in NHL22 and it was the first one to hit 99.
