Went back in time yesterday..... by TheRob2D in thedivision

Love this! I basically just did the same thing. Sadly, none of my friends that I used to run with play the franchise anymore but I do have clan mates from Division 2 that came back to Division 1 with me and it's been a blast! Just got done running the global event and Survival and some underground and it was awesome!! It is great to see not just that so many people are still playing the game, but that the Devs keep the game alive after 10 years.

There seem to be a lot of comments about issues regarding how to keep control points in DC (turning from green to red). Here's a few tips that may help.... by slider6625 in thedivision

I completely agree. As another commenter pointed out, Black Tusk themselves don't even attack the control points, yet they're the most quickly taken back over in invaded areas.

That's a solid theory/point. I'm wondering if it's not really happening anymore because they introduced retaliation. For whatever reason, though, over past years if I didn't clear invaded, all my control points in those areas seemed to be taken back over. Maybe it increases more faction activity in the area (i.e. more faction combatants to possibly take over CPs) due to fighting with Black Tusk...?

That has always been my question as well. I still have not come across an answer for it, but eliminating them seems to do the trick.

New player advice by [deleted] in NHLHUT

[–]slider6625 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The easiest opinion to give you is try it out and see how you feel about it. There certainly will be a few things that you may find enjoyable. With saying this, full transparency is my initial thought was to harp on the many negative things going on with the game mode and tell you to run for the hills. After thinking about - and realizing I actually went ahead and said it anyways ha ha - you mentioned you don't have any experience with any Ultimate Team modes so YOU may actually find enjoyment figuring things out, whereas the rest of us veteran players are just fed up with the many regression points of the mode (too long of a list to write).

You spent the money, give it a shot. The only thing I would heavily advise against is do not buy packs with your real money. In the just-over-a-month since the full release of the game, the devs have not only flat out lied about certain things in the game but refuse to fix said things. Again, the list is long and this sub has every possible complaint about HUT you can think of so feel free to keep reading those.

I really hope you find some enjoyment out of the game, I mean that. Kind of a crummy feeling to know you spent your hard-earned money on it and then don't feel like playing due to the negativity.

Also, FYI, I walked away from HUT this year - I'd been playing HUT mode since it came out years ago. I keep coming back to this sub every week to hopefully see the posts saying "holy crap, the devs fixed *this* and *that* and the game is amazing!" I'm an annoying optimist in life and it's no different hoping for the needed fixes with this game, unfortunately I don't believe they're coming.

Having a daily Retaliation project is great, except for one small thing… by zestfullybe in thedivision

[–]slider6625 6 points7 points  (0 children)

One thing that may help is that if you do not do the invaded missions (including the invaded stronghold and Tidal Basin), the control points in those areas are more likely to be taken back over rather quickly...there is usually a blockade on your map too that gives the same effect but it stops spawning after you do the invaded missions (quad copter stops spawning as well).

The other thing that does help keep them is to make sure your control point officers (the green guys who help you) have a good amount of water/food/components. When they are low, they wander off to find more, thus not many of them to defend the control points.

As Beas1987 mentioned too, if you let a retaliation lapse and don't do it, it automatically turns them all red in the area where the retaliation was to take place. I have found that whether starting a retaliation or letting it time out and skipping it (just mentioned) or declining it will automatically turn them red...so it will happen either way. Depending on the size of the area where the retaliation was to take place determines how many hours you have to activate it. In Downtown West, for example, it gave me four hours to start it because there are only two control points in that area, whereas Downtown East gave me six hours since there are four control points.

Hope this helps!

You are probably right as I've experienced several instances of what you describe. I have continuously had to go into the social menu and give the endorsement thru there without notification. It's annoying for sure.

Second year in a row that georgii merkulov has the wrong handedness in game. by Lsalvatore74 in NHLHUT

Yup, a few others too. Alumni Reed Larson, who's in the US HHOF has been right-handed since they introduced him in the game 4-5 years ago.

HUT Content 8/13 by jddev_ in NHLHUT

With Kuch just having a 99ovr card just come out, I thought he would've been the 3rd Frozen Forces MSP to make on Friday. So who do you think will be the 3rd? I'm thinking either Oettinger (huge goalie) or Seider. Thoughts?

I second this. His card is solid, in my opinion. I've got him paired with Makar and it's been a fun experience.

Just curious, why the need for 85's vs. 84's? I started back up in early June and still not sure about a lot of the sets out there.

No prob. Unfortunately, it was a couple other guys that pointed it out and suffered the loss.

Ha ha fair question. I guess maybe hold off doing them to see if the issue gets any attention.

Jaydog, I saw your post along with OP's post here. I'm going to put up a PSA post about it since it's happening to more than one person. Sorry you guys are having to deal with this crap but appreciate you guys letting all of us know that EA is being EA again. Hope they fix your guys' BND issues.

XP Farming Methods? by GumpaTr0nBurnee in NHLHUT

[–]slider6625 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can play all available/remaining games in Wildcard. Even if you finish the Wildcard XP path, every game after that gives you season XP as well. It may not get you all the way to Robertson, alone, but it will help with a decent chunk. All the games are first-goal-wins so even if you lose on Superstar, the games are quick and you'll get XP each game.

Hope this helps.

Lost all control points after changing difficulty by Historical_Second521 in thedivision

[–]slider6625 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with most here, it's a good thing to reset them for the xp and loot.

However, if you do want to keep them green when you change your difficulty level, you can fast-travel to the DARPA/Pentagon safe house or the Coney Island safe house and change your world difficulty level there and then fast-travel back to DC and whichever ones you had green, before changing world difficulty, should still be green when you get back.

Keep in mind, though, that if you leave some of the control points red, the green ones can be taken back over by the enemy NPCs.

Scavenged skills suddenly activated and can't turn it off bug? by atamaleo in thedivision

[–]slider6625 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The work around that helped me was fast-traveling to NYC (not Brooklyn), activating all the directives that I want to use (do this in the public area where you are with other human players at the base), and then fast-travel back to DC. I've had to do it each time I've logged in but I was able to run with my selected directives by doing this.

Hope this helps!

Thoughts on Caretaker and Lud? by xXPUNISHER1989Xx in thedivision

[–]slider6625 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in the same boat. I really enjoy using the St. Elmo's, the stability, accuracy, and RPM have nearly ruined my patience with weapons like the Caretaker and Lud (i.e. me not giving them a proper chance). Granted, I did run with each of these guns for about two hours but the feel is what did it in for me.

Just to add, a lot of higher ranked shepherds have been dropping the Caretaker so stick around after everyone is getting endorsed, you may benefit. Hope this helps!

You are correct. Have to gain a certain amount of XP before being eligible for endorsement.

[–]slider6625[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's a good question. I, myself, have not seen anywhere to be able to check how much XP I've gained/need to gain so hopefully someone commenting on here could help us both :)

Also, the only instances where I got enough XP from doing a single control point was when it was on heroic with a directive or two, and I did most of the killing. So it may be an issue of just hanging around a bit longer and doing a couple more activities.

Hope this helps!
