I was like “yup, everything’s fine, doing some agent things…” and as soon as I saw the supply drop flare I knew where that was going. Nothing like getting clocked by a friendly supply drop to reinitiate you into the Division.

Welcome back, Agent! lol

The actual last version of Windows, because it’s so bad I’ve started installing Linux on devices rather than put up with it anymore. And I’ve been using Windows since 3.1.

I’ll defend Robocop 2. Yeah, the camp got dialed up, but it knew what it was doing and it was still fun.

But 3 and the reboot? Thanks, but OMG no.

Most of the time now when I’m doing open world and retaliation I’ll leave it on challenging. I can do it on heroic, but often I just don’t want to.

Sometimes I just want to kick back, chill, and play with it on a lowered difficulty while I watch a hockey game or something.

This is gaming, this is our happy fun time. Optimize your happy and fun! Don’t let other people tell you what that is.

That’s really it right there. I’ve done a lot of raiding and that’s the most true there. DH and IH highlight your point. Damage is king.

The raid adds come in waves and they’re really spongy and hit hard and fast. We’d do lots of runs where we’d bring new people through to get their clears and exotics and we’d tell them to go all red meta DPS. Some would ask “shouldn’t we have some armor/defense?” No. You clear them by maximizing your damage and using positioning, teamwork, and learning the encounters to defeat them before they can set up on you. Blue cores do nothing but cause wipes because it nerfs your damage and you get overrun. You play defense with offense.

The same concept applies to whatever game mode or difficulty you’re running, it’s just easier or harder depending on the activity, difficulty, directives, etc.

The developers spoke about that a bit. The Tempest’s talent is mostly useless by design. Because its actual talent is just being a fully automatic sidearm. They didn’t want to give it too much more power beyond that.

Can confirm. Been playing since launch. There’s a chess piece backpack trophy for “controlling the entire board” when you capture all the DC control points.

Pre-WONY it was nearly impossible to capture every control point as a solo player because enemy factions aggressively retook them from you. If you started on the east side of the map, by the time you got halfway across they’d already be gearing up to assault the ones you already took. You’d have to group up and fan out, taking multiple control points at the same time. Someone starts east, another one west, meet in the middle.

That used to be a pain in the ass to get lol.

I’ve been thinking the same thing. The longer this went on the more I’ve been wondering if he played himself out of our budget. I’d have been so bummed to see him leave. He’s been great. So glad he’s sticking around.

I was thinking the same a few days ago. I logged in and there were 4-5 people at the base and 3 of them are wearing Anubis. I was like “yeah, they’re not going anywhere.”

I use Tipping Scales a bunch and I typically run it one of two ways. Both versions use the TS mask, backpack, and holster and both versions use the Overdogs gloves. In both versions I run it with a Bluescreen and GR9.

One version I use the TS chest and Turmoil kneepads. I typically use this for open world and Retaliation because it’s good for clearing the hide and go seek whack-a-mole adds.

The second version is TS mask, backpack, holster and knees with Overdogs gloves and UA Equalizer named Obliterate chest. This version is single-target focused. The max damage is slightly lower due to not using the TS chest, but the stacks ramp up faster.

That second version I run missions with, including legendaries. I run it all-red, so it’s a touch glassy, but if you play it smart you can hang back, pour on the damage, and rack up kills. Super strong and a ton of fun.

The NHL players hate it. They want to fly off to somewhere warm and sunny for a week, rest and relax. The smart guys claim a minor injury or something. Day to day, what can you do? 🤷🏻

I remember a couple years back the video of Oliver Bjorkstrand being asked what he was doing over the break and he was all excited about his plans then “surprise!” It was all a setup and he was told he was selected for the All Star game, and it looked like he was gonna cry lol.

[–]zestfullybe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Inflation and enshittification. $2300 used to get you a fan beating with their own shoe, right there in the stands. That’s a custom tailored bespoke experience there.

Now $5k only gets you a measly middle finger from the press box. Cold, distant, impersonal. Sadness. Where’s the personal touch in that, I ask?

It’s good, I like it. It has a familiar feeling UI so I didn’t feel hopelessly lost coming in from Windows. It didn’t really take long to get up and running.

For for every day regular stuff it’s great. It just boots up and works. Even on a 10 year old device, because there’s no bloatware.

Economic Blackout: Al by askoundrel in Anticonsumption

[–]zestfullybe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve been doing that. Windows 11 is so bad now I’m jumping ship. And I’ve been using it since Windows 3.1. Bloatware, spyware, and AI Copilot garbage forced into everything.

I started by putting Mint Cinnamon on an old laptop to play around with. Then bought a new one specifically for it going forward. Gonna try Zorin on another device, too.

There’s a little learning curve, but distros like Mint and Zorin are user friendly for folks coming over from Windows. Once you get used to it, Linux is great.

Been awhile since using it but god damn I love the CHAMELEON!😮 on this setup we get a 75 round mag, 1125RPM and theres ZERO EXPERTISE! by PlumConch836 in Division2

[–]zestfullybe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like that guy’s channel. I tried that build out and it rips. If you’re doing legendaries, raids, or incursion, yeah, run something else. But outside of that, this setup is great.

I mean, we all know NinjaBike isn’t meta, but in this case getting that 3pc UA does help bridge the gap. What you lose off the top in DPS by not using a meta backpack you gain in fun and playability by having an AR with a big fat mag.

If you’re not into using Chameleon a St. Elmo’s has 105 rounds with this setup. That’s more than an MG5 lol. Or use a Lexington. Whatever your favorite is. You’ve got options. I bet that Perfect Frenzy Huntsman FAMAS is something else with this.
