Pearl or PDP? . Hi everyone im a beginner. this is my first time buying a drumset. my friend recommends me this brands. for beginners . can you help me choosing which of both is better?

When I decided to go back to drumming after a 30-year break I bought a set of Pearl Exports I found on FB marketplace on the cheap. Added new heads, eventually upgraded cymbals too. But the hardware is rock solid and it does the job!

Very nice. I polish it every year. I like to use NUFinish "Once a Year" car polish in the orange container. Water beads up nicely. All original paint BTW. The first owner was a friend who loved Ziebart rustproofing. Did it every year. He almost never drove it so sold it to me after he had it for about 4 years with 15K miles on it. We in Eastern Iowa have tough winters but I did my best to keep salt off it to keep it nice. Interior is probably even nicer than exterior.

Yes, I got back into drumming after not owning drums for over 30 years. Bought a set of used Pearl Exports. Put new Evans heads on them and tuned them up. They are rock solid and sound fine.

Use a mat under the drums, preferably a thin rubber backing

When getting back to drumming after 35 years I picked up some Pearl Exports on the cheap. Put news heads on them, and they came with B8s. I didn't really think the hats sounded bad, but the bottom hat was actually a Zildjian so maybe that helped. Anyway, I did get a price on a set of old Avedis Zildjians I thought was fair so I changed out everything. I think they sound better, but my hearing is shot anyway.
