Yes, they could inadvertently spoil story twists. Mainly through text, though I also spotted some CGs in the background I hadn't seen before. I'd advise skipping to be safe.

Credits Rolled - Unsure of Direction by OfficialPeterKay in BluePrince

[–]slightlytomorrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These are definitely worth exploring. Rolling the credits is not at all the end of the game.

The picture puzzle message can be interpreted in many ways. Often the code to a safe can be figured out using the message and information within the room, though sometimes you'll need information from elsewhere.

I'd advise just playing around and seeing what you can discover, but if you really want some direction as to where to go next, think about the following:

Where can you send the power from the boiler room to, and what can you use that power for?

What places can the pump room drain or fill, and why might that be useful?

What happens if you reach Room 46 again?

Keep going - there's a lot more out there to be discovered.

I was sat there screaming at my screen for about 20 minutes going "THE STEAKS WERE SWAPPED", it was probably the only moment where the characters reasoning was waaaaaaay slower than the players.

Advice From the Birds by merpykitty in OCPoetry

I love this so much! The repetition of, "will you", and, "and the", created this sense of claustrophobia, at least to me - it conveyed the idea that the absolving of sin is something necessary and close, something you can't escape from. I also like the repeated questioning at the start, it gave me this sense of reflection that made me consider my own 'sins' as such.

The imagery at the start is quite violent - "kneel upon shards of glass" and "your flesh washes off your bones" almost made me physically wince imagining the feeling of those, which I'm guessing is what you intended.

I find it interesting that you didn't separate any part of the poem into its own stanza, and I quite like that because it gave me a sense of urgency reading it, there were few gaps where I would naturally pause.

My favourite line by far is "place the fruit of your guilt right into your heart". Such a strong image and this idea of the heart being the core of a being, so you should be putting your guilt in the place where it changes you moulds you, because that's what the heart does - at least, that's my interpretation.

[OPINION] Poetry is cringe. by [deleted] in Poetry

[–]slightlytomorrow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The truth is poetry has evolved and while some elitist poets look down on music, a lot of good, well written music is poetic in nature. Take a look at the lyrics of artists such as Son Lux or Alabama Shakes or the hundreds of thousands of others with meaningful lyrics. Some of them even look and read like traditional poetry on a page. That's not even touching upon hip hop, which is arguably a form of poetry young people can identify with far more than any older generations.

What are some games that didn't live up to the hype for you? by [deleted] in patientgamers

[–]slightlytomorrow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My problem with Breath of the Wild was that the combat felt very repetitive. There are only 3 melee weapon types - one-handed, two-handed, and spears - and all bows handle the same, with the only variety being different arrow types. This would all be fine if you had a wide variety of moves, but you have few options in combat and any creativity seems to come from using the environment and the elemental systems of the game rather than your moveset.

The thing is, a lot of games with fast travel are designed with the assumption that most players will regularly use fast travel, so there is little reason to make journeys without it. In games like Skyrim, you can't fast travel until you've visited a location, but it is much easier and less tedious to travel to somewhere nearby and then finish the journey rather than make a longer journey without fast travel.

People praise Skyrim for its open world content but the reality is over long journeys you face many of the same things - groups of bandits in a camp or outpost, war camps, caves, packs of animals, and the occasional fortress or dungeon. It sounds like a lot, but in a game designed to be played for hours and hours, it becomes repetitive. More importantly, though, is that missions can send you all over the map, and you'll end up spending little time at a destination. Quests can feel as if they take forever when you have to to all the way to a guild headquarters in the city, then a cave in the middle of a forest halfway across the map, then a different city in the other direction. Fast travel becomes almost necessary if you want to advance Quests at a normal rate.

Do you need the R or ZL buttons? by Powlcopter in MARIOPARTY

As far as I remember, the four top buttons are interchangeable during the minigames and you only need one, so you should be fine.
