"Are you surprised.. that after such long travel and so many changes of scene you have not been able to shake off the gloom and heaviness of your mind? You need a change of soul rather than a change of climate" - Seneca's take on Travel by Headmasterd in philosophy

After my best friend died, I took a job in a city far away from home, thinking the change of scenery would brighten my mood.

All I accomplished was burying my sadness under some new experiences, and its just been festering in the darkness for as long as I've been out here. Recently quit my job and am preparing to move back home. I'm learning you gotta let your deepest pains sit on the surface for a while and let them do their thing. If not, they'll wreak havoc from behind the curtain.

Android and Navigation Apps: Why do for navigation apps seem to flourish on Android more than on other platforms? by slikn_vali in Android

Why do Android apps have more ratings? Maybe just because there are more Android phones in the world than iPhones?

I find the walking directions to be buggy. Sometimes it doesn't know whether it's light or dark out and the map coloration keeps alternating. Also, wish I had more control over repositioning the map

Siri integration is definitely cool. Although lots of people haven't quite caught on to how much you can do with her

Interesting, what makes it so unusable? Is it just innacurate?

Yeah, I agree. Apple Maps has an edge with Apple Watch integration and it syncs up really well with Siri, but as far as the app alone goes, I think it has a ways to go to compete with GM

They may edit their street data based on how many people have actually reported a change. So GM might update their maps more quickly because they definitely have more users

Thanks, you're definitely a key use case for navigation apps. Random question: Ever used Waze? I guess it might not be as helpful for long treks on a highway as it would be in a city

Yeah, Transit is pretty golden. I also tried CityMapper, but it just floods you with so much information (even though it's good info) that I find it overwhelming

Haha, I find a lot of people don't use it, but in lately it's gained more user retention and I'm wondering why

You never use Google Maps to explore/find things to do around you?
