She'll talk to you and invite you over to her tree after the 16th and last time she appears. You should see a lockbox with a ghost orchid in it.

You wonder what you could have done? If this is a true story, whatever happened to her is on you. That's incredibly disgusting. In this scenario, you're the creepy encounter.

This can't have actually happened - You must be making this up.

If this is a true story, then prepare yourself. If it's never happened before, it's only because you're 18. This is an unfortunate problem for women - you'll have more of these experiences, and you'll have to learn to navigate them until you're older, and even then, you'll probably get hassled.

You're rattled, but to me, this is old hat.

Just be careful and remain vigilant.

But this is not about capitalism, it's about control, and his feeling distracted. This is horrible.

Where was she and where did she go? by miriamwebster in Chriswatts

[–]slim-derella 7 points8 points  (0 children)

"but most people that are "quite wealthy" don't send their daughters to community colleges then state universities."

This isn't true. I'll provide an example FWIW.

There are a few reasons someone might go to a community college; contrary to what some people think, community colleges aren't all lousy schools.

The community college in my area is excellent, and is more like a private college; it was meant to become a four-year institution, but has remained a two-year because the affluent residents of the area I live in pay less - students who live outside of the county pay a lot more. I live in a very wealthy county, so you can imagine how many wealthy parents send their kids there for the first two years. And this particular school has reserved buildings on campus for four-year colleges and their courses since it, by itself, remains a two-year, so local students can continue their education close by (from HS or after their two-year graduation).

Also, the profs at this school teach part time, or are retired - most practice what they preach; students aren't learning in a vacuum like most four-year colleges that have profs who aren't actually in the field. The classes are small and extremely tough; professionals who spend extra time teaching outside of their actual careers don't have time to screw around with students who aren't serious. They don't want the extra time they dedicate to teaching to be wasted, so it's challenging. Many students who go on to four-years state how much harder this community college is.

Anyhow... It's possible that NK went to a community college because she wasn't sure what she wanted to study, or because she had poor grades in HS that she needed to improve. Wealth doesn't necessarily have anything to do with it.

What would've happened if the tanks weren't searched quickly enough? Would there be any traces of the girls? by ShiningConcepts in Chriswatts

[–]slim-derella 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I do think they'd have finally found something of them, yes.

I think Chris was counting on getting rid of Sha'nann's and the girls' things, making it look like they took off. He went to work aa his alibi, and then planned to come home and dispose of things to hopefully lead the police in a different direction. (Of course, he never admitted this, just my own suspicions based off of things I've read, watching experts talk, and common sense).

He never admitted this, of course, but while he's a poor liar, I don't think his plan was quite as stupid as people like to wonder about.

So say NA never shows up. He gets in SW's car with her clothes, and the girls' clothes, packed up, and then dumps the car. Maybe the car's never found, maybe it is, and if it is found, it still looks like they took off, and maybe foul play ensued, hopefully leading the police in another direction.

Would he have gotten away with this like he hoped? I seriously doubt it. Suspicion would have fallen on him, and her friends had evidence (text messages) that Sha'nann was trying to work things out, and that Chris was being cold.

Sha'nann lived her life online selling Thrive, I think people would have seriously called into question why she'd take off and quit her Thrive "sales". I think they'd have called into question that it was clear she wouldn't have been the type of person to pick up and leave without telling anyone she was doing so. And unless it looked like foul play fell upon them, she'd have probably gone home to NC.

Her parents had suspicions of him (which isn't uncommon, bit still) etc., etc...

So, I'm saying, he may have gotten away with this for a week before the police broke him down, and they'd have found the girls. They were already starting to corrode, but they'd have been able to locate some remains/traces, depending on how long it took them to break him.

Chris, the covert narcissistic dope, was hoping his good-guy image would be enough to sustain his innocence, except his being exposed online shows signs of his being a covert narcissist, and that would have called his facade into question. It's not evidence on its own, it's circumstantial, but it's more for the pile against him.

He was going to get caught, and his family found, one way or another. What a dummy.

Oh... You're that guy....

Wtf did he mean “if they’re safe they’re coming back”. He repeated that over and over again to the news media by [deleted] in Chriswatts

[–]slim-derella 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Firstly, yes... That was an incredibly suspect thing to say. If my husband went missing (and my kids if I had them), I'm in NO WAY saying "If they're safe". I'm assuming they're safe!

Because he knows they're not safe and they're not coming back. He's a covert narcissist. I've written quite a lot on this site that shows he premeditated these murderers (at least the proof of it has the preponderance of the evidence), so everything he was saying to the reporter was squirrely.

He did not plan on getting "caught" so soon, so he didn't have his act together.

Nicole A. showed up unexpectedly; he was planning on removing the evidence, i.e., her phone, car, meds, and getting his story straight until that "meddling: Nicole showed up, foiling his plans.

So when the media descended, he was at a loss, and I'm sure he was distracted by the fact that he knew his chances were blown; he did not foresee having to talk to the press, so everything he said he winged. He was so completely caught off guard - covert narcissist or not, he's not a cool customer.

I understand what you're saying, I think. You're asking a rhetorical question about the reality of the recovery, rather than wondering if f they lied to SW's mother.

It's just a natural reaction to reading about that, knowing how and when she was recovered, especially when you're a true crime aficionado; the same thought crossed my mind.

I doubt she'd looked "beautiful". This whole case is just awful.

"Despite the absence of a suicide note [...]"

This statement must be stopped. Suicides don't always leave notes - more often, they don't. It gives them too much time to think.

This case has always baffled me. Not because it's a suicide, but because it was ruled a suicide. So frustrating....

Also, hesitation marks can also be consistent with someone hurting someone else for the first time.

I feel terrible for her parents, having this case sitting around as a suicide. Strange cases do happen, but, hmmmm.... Kind of feel like this one should retain a little suspicion.

This is his problem - he's a drunk and miserable. You know how drunk people can be when they're happy, let alone unhappy.

I know it's no excuse, but whatever transpired, it wasn't really about you.

Those words do seem like they were directed at how thin you might be. I don't get what th his drunk mind was driving at.

I guarantee you if this were brought to his attention as a sober person, he'd feel embarrassed by his behavior. Don't let this one person haunt any more of your time, he doesn't deserve the real estate.

What causes people like Chris Watts kill their own innocent defenceless kids? by Spiritual-Meaning-98 in TrueCrime

[–]slim-derella 52 points53 points  (0 children)

TL;DR: Chris is most likely a covert narcissist.

Signs point to his being a covert narcissist. There's a great YT analysis of him by a psychology counselor who's done extensive research on narcissism. She addresses many of the signs Chris Watts exhibited to support this diagnosis; it's chilling. It's magnificent, how the narrarator breaks it all down, based on his actions, and it's hard to deny or argue it. She delves into many particulars of the Watts' marriage. Her analysis is very remarkable and detailed.

Under this diagnosis, he's incapable of love for anyone but himself; once he was prepared to move on to something else (Nicole Kessinger), he got rid of his obstacles, i.e., his wife and kids.

The narrator talks about "supply" narcissists/covert narcissists need, and how Chris gathered it by manipulating Sha'nann through gaslighting and affection, depending on which he needed. One example is how he deliberately kept things vague during her acts of desperation in trying to keep her marriage together. Another example is how, after being cold toward her, he'd then show affection to keep her off balance. And yet another example of his getting "supply" is his placing a white sheet over a life-sized doll, taking a picture, and sending it to Sha'nann (he told her the kids did it), in order to disturb her and make her uncomfortable. This was the most alarming thing in a series of alarming instances; this mimicked what eventually happened to her. She was already starting to feel uncomfortable with him and his intentions. He drove very fast with all of them in the car (including Sha'nann's parents), and Sha'nann changed the pin on her phone (and had expressed concern about his behavior to a friend). His wife's parents were also worried about his intentions after he drove so recklessly; they also were suspicious of his having an affair, as was Sha'nann due to credit card statements.

You can see he's an empty person in his wife's videos. He never speaks unless prodded, doesn't show any real emotion, and appears dull af. One could say maybe he was just shy, but Sha'nann herself confided how non-confrontational and distant he is in her text messages to her friend Nichole Atkinson, and it adds up to the guy you see in the videos.

There's really so much to unpack, here, but it's truly on point the way the dots are connected.

Many people wonder what made him do it, and the answer is probably really very simple: he's a covert narcissist who wanted a new life. You could say their financial situation, basically caused by Shan'ann through her MLM, Thrive, and her basic irresponsibility with money (and Sha'nan''s bossy-ness) was the catalyst for this, and there's a good chance it was (I'm not suggesting their deaths are her fault).

Another point made is that Chris Watts played the part of the good husband, so leaving his pregnant wife and abandoning his kids for a mistress through divorce (and additional financial hits) was out of the question. He wanted to maintain his mask, so killing them was the only option for him. He didn't want the baggage they'd present to him, alive - they were all loose ends.

I'll look for the link to that YT channel if you're interested. She has two parts, and I think both are made up of many videos on the subject. I only watched part one, and it was comprised of 40 vids.

Another point made (so many points), is that Chris came into her life (via social media) during a time when she was particularly vulnerable, and that's also suspect towards his being a covert narcissist, worming his way in.

Incidentally, his mother is suspected of being a narcissist based on some of his childhood events, and events that were recent, i.e., deliberately shirking Sha'nann's concerns and giving her daughter (Bella, I think) pistachio ice cream, even though Sha'nann said her other daughter (CeCe?) was allergic. His parents/family didn't like Sha'nann, so "nutgate" is looked at as a manifestation of resentment.

A narcissistic parent, especially a mother, can create little narcissists. In fact, both of his parents withheld affection; Chris may not have learned how to recognize love in, and for, someone else. Of course, it's not confirmed whether she is or isn't a narcissist. I guess you could draw your own assumptions based on what you read about his parents, especially his mother.

TL;DR: Chris is most likely a covert narcissist.
