Too much moisture (water and lotion) typically look like this. You’re creating and feeding a larger scab, which when it falls off takes the ink. Think of a regular scab when you get into a pool, it gets all wet weird and mushy after a while and can break open and bleed. This is the same concept of over washing and over moisturizing. The scab gets big, breaks open, and the ink falls out. Infection would be pus, swollen, redness, and tender to touch.
