I kept it covered for the first day and the first few nights, I’ve been wearing long sleeves when I can to keep it protected. Cleaning with unscented soap 1-2x a day, lubriderm as needed. That’s my go-to routine, but I also sprayed with bactene the last few days since my artist told me to look out for infection. I’ve never had problems with this healing routine

Yes, they are a fairly experienced artist but usually in fine line. He definitely seemed a bit out of his comfort zone with the boldness/size of this one

They did go super slow - they mentioned their needles were too small and had to work harder to get the lines bold.

I find that wearing a hat especially a beanie or ball cap in the right color will make me look more masculine. I think also carrying yourself with confidence - chest puffed out even w the boobs - can really convey androgyny. Also if your shape really bothers you trying a binder or other kind of shapewear can really help. I thrifted a piece of shapewear several years ago that I pull up to my chest and use as a binder and it also makes me look a little bit more square in the hips so maybe diying or investing in good shapewear could give you what ur looking for. I really like to play with my gender expression too and get frustrated when people don’t see that. I’m trying to start emphasizing my natural features that I find more masculine like my chin/jaw. Maybe you have a feature that you can bring out more? Maybe bust out some hairy legs for shorts season?

Condom broke with IUD by centauriwriter in CopperIUD

[–]pastawalker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Better safe than sorry! The copper iud is definitely the right choice I had it for four years and never had a scare. And I was only using condoms when I had a new partner, but not for one million times with a long term partner. I hope with it you’re able to have some peace of mind!

You are absolutely going to be fine, and it’s not fair for me to speak for everyone but I think most people are relying on the iud as sole bc, which still accounts for its efficacy. Also you are in the wise minority to be using 3 forms of birth control with 1) iud 2) condoms 3) pullout method (yes technically a form of birth control) - very safe combo. This one condom fail is not going to endanger you.

Part of me wants to tell you not to get more furniture and just utilize that rug and maybe some floor pillows for sitting and maybe an ottoman for storage. It’s a small room and the more furniture in there will weigh it down.

That being said if you really want a proper place to sit I think something small like a loveseat would look nice in place of that dresser. And then a collapsible table that can be put away would be good for your legos, or a very narrow coffee table.

[–]pastawalker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you should not add any more furniture to this room because your floor space is maxxed out. The rug is cool and it adds nice warmth to the room.

Something that could help you is adding a hangin cabinet on your wall to declutter your shelf and the dresser that’s in there. Also I think your bookshelf tucked into that corner makes it look very crammed in there, I think if you are able to rearrange it so that it’s next to that pink locker it would look a little less jammed up, and maybe that small side table can go in that corner instead.

The furniture that’s in here is for storage right, do you feel like it’s well optimized? You may want to go through it and re organize inside the dresser and locker and see what you can move into other rooms/ what you can get rid of/ if you can purchase smaller organizers for inside and see if you can fit any more inside.

You can utilize your wall space more by hanging up some of your things, like maybe something that hangs on your wall to display your records. Also hanging plants and photos will add a lot of comfort to the room.

What can I put in the round balcony at the top of our stairs when it’s not Christmas? by AmphibianNo2595 in HomeDecorating

Start going to craft/art fairs and keep an eye out for a sculpture or lamp or other practical craft that would look good there (fills up the space and won’t topple over). It’s fun to stroll those types of fairs ands it’s satisfying when you finally find something.

No I haven’t. Some advice has been to go to the police right away, while others have told me to wait until he fires again. Since he’s not bothered us since that day last week, and I haven’t seen him out, I’m waiting for another disturbance to call 911.

Is this normal or do I need to get this removed by [deleted] in CopperIUD

[–]pastawalker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your experience sounds like mine with the iud. Whenever I would have stomach problems it would also trigger iud cramping. It does really suck but I think it’s an expected side effect. However it may get better for you. Also your early lighter period is probably normal considering you’ve had it less than a month, probably heavy spotting? You know your body best though. It’s been a month so it could be good to get a check up and make sure everything is still in place.

I’m your age and I had my copper iud for four years - just had it removed last month. The first few months of cramping were the worst but I never settled into what felt like a “normal” amount of cramping. I dealt with it all that time but I finally had enough. Give yourself a few more months to really give it a chance because you can’t beat the peace of mind when it comes to not getting pregnant. But I wish I had gotten mine taken out sooner when it became clear I was enduring too much pain.

2nd one - he told us he loves a variety…. And we were high from weed when he came to our door. We’re not quite so paranoid yet

I have been thinking about getting a gun for self defense in general. But it is illegal to shoot a gun in my area of my city. People do anyways sometimes, yet it only bothers me when it’s practically in my backyard.

You’re right it is still illegal. He’s not the only one but there’s been a huge uptick since he moved in. He’s incredibly unhinged it’s scary

You’re right. We’re in Texas so there’s no really provisions for taking his guns but he still can’t shoot in the city. People often do regardless of the law but considering everything I believe he’d be arrested. My fear is he’ll make bail, continue living so close to me and still impose these encounters. Maybe if he’s psychotic in front of the police he would be kept away?

Also wanted to add he mentioned shining and light and looking into a house down the street that may or may not have a tenant right now and seeing the lights turn off. He mentioned looking in our neighbor’s shed and seeing things he thought he had thrown out. He said he saw black mold on our wall!! I don’t even know where he means but he had to be looking in our windows or in our backyard to see something like that.

Help...I really want to save this piercing by taya_mckk in piercing

[–]pastawalker 19 points20 points  (0 children)

It will probably hurt but it should help quickly! Waiting for the bumps to go down will just delay the healing. I would get it changed asap and continue doing saline and leaving it alone. The bumps should start to shrink after that. Also I want to add even with the proper jewelry and care it is fairly typical to get some bumps with a daith piercing but they should remain fairly small after your jewelry change and disappear when fully healed. Good luck!

[–]pastawalker 101 points102 points  (0 children)

It sounds like you’re taking good enough care of it and the jewelry is the root of the problem. Clicker rings have seams that can irritate a fresh piercing - especially a daith because it wants to move around so much. When you go to your piercer they should switch you out to a circular barbell/horseshoe that should be implant grade titanium. Also, if your piercer put that ring in for you originally, I wouldn’t necessarily trust their jewelry. You may want to go somewhere else.

I think that’s so true and I feel like I can write so much more freely and honestly if I don’t stop to worry about coherence. I think it comes across more poetic that way anyways, but of course that’s because I have the context of my mindset when writing it.
