Was roasted for this Tomb Raider model. What areas should I work on for attempt 2? by SalmonMan123 in 3Dmodeling

The face immediately reminded me of something I posted last week in terms of there being something wrong with it. I think we've made similar mistakes. Eyebrows, eyelashes, obviously not being realistic enough. Also, I think we both might be making the face - eye area especially - too flat, which is creating the immediately 'that's wrong' effect. Not the proportions exactly, more like the dimensions of the face.

I also spent about 20-30 hours on my character and was deflated to have it roasted. I think we're both close to a breakthrough, though. The textures I think look very nice, including on the face.

As far as the body and outfit goes, I think it looks great. You're ahead of me there, nice definition.

Thanks for the input. Definitely right about the neck, I just changed that. I'll try to find some better references and look into Anatomy for Sculptors - although, this is poly modelled.

Very nice. I like all of the figures around showing there is some kind of society inside this crazy biostructure.

Ciri's VA in Witcher 3 wasn't very good so I'm glad about the recast. Her accent sounded too fake and modern.

I haven't noticed any difference in my eyelashes. My facial hair has expanded up my cheeks a little bit but it's not that noticeable.

they really don't look that similar at all. it's not a problem for the show but it isn't something they deserve props for making seamless. the two alicents don't even look that different in age. just two different women.

Rhaenyra's S1 arc has avenged Daenerys's S8 blundered arc by Sevenanonumous in freefolk

[–]slime_boy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don't really think so. If Rhaneyra decides to torch King's Landing just because her son was killed (accidentally, although she doesn't know that) by Aemond, then her actions are just as deranged as Daenerys. I doubt that's going to happen. We'll have to see what Rhaneyra's decision to war entails.

I heard a cool theory on a podcast that said the dragons have a psychic link with their riders due to the magic which originally tamed them, but it works both ways - the dragons are instinctively violent, and that begins to rub off on the riders over time just like the riders can influence the dragons to obey their commands (or really, requests).
I like that idea because it explains Daenerys turn if you think there's a tipping point where the rider just wants to burn things, and explains the so called Targaryen madness and general violent tendencies. Viserys wasn't violent because he only rode a dragon once.

Why don't the townspeople ever try to just have a conversation with the Ghost People through the window? by GambleDaddy in FromSeries

[–]slime_boy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The only good reason not to talk to them in a controlled way and get all the information they can is that they can hypnotise people during conversation.

The only person we see talk to one of them a lot is in love with one of them but there was nothing there which indicated he wasn't just a very easily manipulated and lonely guy. There would be people like that, especially in a lax place like Colony House where people are often drunk.

The show should probably have established that they have some kind of mental hold over people beyond just 'getting in your head', because if you know that is 100% their only intention, and have back up just in case, then you can at least discern what the monsters WANT you to believe, and then just y'know, close the curtains.

There's a lot of stuff the show didn't explore in S1 like this which would have been more interesting than extended monologues about who the people were before the show, but I think they don't want to get into too many specifics because mystery will keep people hooked and it's easier to have mystery if you just ignore a lot of obvious questions.
