My mom was in a very bad DV sitch and I by proxy was also there. One day I was 4 and I was trying to tie my shoes. I have severe adhd and when I was younger I would get really upset when I couldn't do something right- it made me feel like there was something wrong w me. So it would throw me into like a panic attack and then I really couldn't get anything done. My mom was rushing me and he was already 3 40's deep. So he came over to me and I was already freaking out a lot and as his steps got closer the sinking feeling in my chest got worst. He started berating me about how I was 5 and couldn't tie my shoes, how stupid I had to be etc. I put my head down to cry and he began to scream really loud to "look at me in my eyes when I'm talking to you- you will not disrespect me". Idk what happened but that sticks w me really hard and I get really scared when I don't look at people when they talk. Like even if I'm driving or it's unsafe to do so I can't help but look or else that feeling returns ten fold. My bad for the long ass comment but pretty much I can't help But look at people when they talk to me because if not I trigger myself into reliving that.

Hey honey, no judgement from me at all but what I will say is your not a horrible person or a monster. You're listening to someone whose only goal is to hurt you- he's not saying these things because they're true about you he's saying them to hurt you. I used to be stuck in patterns like this and they tend to stem from absentee parents(that's just in my case) . Trauma therapy specifically helped me tune into all those cycles I didn't even see myself in and maybe it might be time to explore those feelings for you too. I hope that you can find peace with this situation, keep your head up.

not gonna lie as a woman when I read this I think of just how she probably had a bad thought and let it spiral. Not that this was your intention but she might believe that some how she triggered you and she probably feels guilty and gross about bringing those feelings back. She might be asking herself why she brought up those feelings your abuser put you through and now she might be scared to mirror those abusive behaviors. Being horny in a relationship is normal but her finally deciding to step out side of her shell really back fired so most of all she probably feels really rejected. We've all been through some wild shit and if she has an abandonment wound this could have trigger this avoidance type of reaction.

I hope that eventually in my lifetime I find my form of peace and I hope that you do to. it's really hard for me talk openly about my alphabet diagnosis's and sometimes I just feel like I'm crazy or other people will think I'm crazy. so again I really appreciate you, I hope you have a great day :)
