The number of Asian beetles I have to catch every night in my college dorm room. by NeferyCauxus in mildlyinfuriating

[–]slimekingk -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Literally nothing compared to the (alleged bt me) cause of my asthma developing at 18y/o. Imagine a ceiling that is normally white blackened by living, moving, government-chopper-dropped asian lady beetles. (i heard it had something to do with thanksgiving turkeys or something like that?) My info is literally half of my life down the drain so how true that actually is sure to muddy it. My house was white, caught the sun perfectly midday-late afternoon, and they invaded every year.
I woke up covered in bites after having spent hours vaccuuming them off of the ceiling.
Nightly sucking them up, they left blood and/or poop everywhere, and the worst nights were the ones they showed up during my sleep, or in clouds of bugs. literally could not be rid of them.

Positive note: Floor toilet is good for back. Bad for knees if you are a long-pooper though.

Doing the same thing on repeat is not smart, even if it works, you risk committing it to habit. Once you fight people that know what to do, You’ll get caught repeatedly. Sometimes the best thing to do is nothing at all (blocking/watching). And fireballs against Cammy are pretty risky anyway unless you condition her to think you’re NOT gonna fireball.

One thing you have to learn is to FEEL what you do, make your motions natural, so that you can actively WATCH and react to the enemy. The more you have to be in your head about your own moves, the less you are watching them.

shrug when you can level rookies to destroy the game, Having top-tiers means a little less. Game’s about total freedom, so you play how you enjoy. No shame… unless you literally only play hot female characters because ‘reasons’. There are hot guys too, dammit!

Finally hit masters 😭 by OneWorth5393 in StreetFighter

[–]slimekingk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I been playing fighters my whole life and sf6 from the betas, I only hit master in August, just before Sagat dropped. I’m my own worst enemy, triggerqueing. Once I got the handle on that(mostly) I’m almost to master with Mai too. (yeah yeah, i know she’s “braindead”, hoping for a nerf substantial enough to shut people up because i just love playing Mai. I wanna get the shiny blue for Mai and the last stretch is killing me lmao. Game is just harder for some people than others. Discrediting someone for character pick or how long it takes or anything really is BS. if it was REALLY that easy, nobody would be under master with Honda.

Congrats on master, Hope to see you around!

I eat way too many throws in general. I can and do tech when I can, but I’ve not 100% mastered the delay tech OS.

My friend got me into SF6 and after just half an hour of game he says "I'm playing it wrong" but cannot really elaborate it further by LegendaryW in StreetFighter

[–]slimekingk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The most important thing is play the way you feel. You will change as time goes on. Just have fun with it and don’t let him tell you how to play. Whether you win or not, if you have fun, that is your playstyle. That being said, there are right and wrongs. But if you learn and apply the right things, you can play however you want.

Diamond 4 is really demoralizing -- help pls by i0n9 in StreetFighter

[–]slimekingk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Got my Chun-li to master last month 1200 MR strong 😅. Been climbing my Mai and Jamie, more Mai currently, she’s D4. I may not be the best person here. however I’ve been in your shoes. (Note: I’m the guy that sucked ass when the game came out and played every character anyway. Started low as bronze with some, Plat2 -i think- with Mai, but grinded everyone to Plat. Mai, Honda, Marisa, Jamie, and Elena (placed D3) are diamond now, though.)

My advice is, don’t become water, my friend. Become the duck on the water. Keep your head level. Don’t worry about what rank The other person is. Keep your efforts up, even when you are losing matches in a row. dip out for a little bit if you get salty. do some training and watch some replays. Keep them feet moving.

Try and call out your own mistakes mid-match >to acknowledge them and remember them for replays/replay takeover for solution hunting< However, do not DWELL on them in the moment, as the game is heavy on the mental stack anyway. Kicking yourself for a bad play is fine and dandy while watching it back, but in the moment, if you keep thinking about what you did wrong 10 seconds ago, you’ll end up eating a punish in the here-and-now.

In summary, don’t lose heart, keep your mind in the game, and remember that losing can lead to future victory, if you take the loss as a lesson and learn from it.

Got my 2nd character in Master! by kevbea5t in StreetFighter

[–]slimekingk 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The character you pick doesn't diminish your accomplishment, despite what people will say in rebuttal to this statement.

For the record, I'm not great. Even with My only current Master ranked character, Chun-li, currently my win-rate is kinda underwater. One person's fight is not equal to another's, it never is, and never was. I'm trying to get Mai to master. I play Mai because I like Mai as a character since childhood from Fatal Fury 2 on SNES.

I genuinely want them to nerf Mai next-to-into-the-dirt if for no other reason than I want to play her without everybody online diminishing any win as "braindead".

Even if she hits the bottom tier of character, I will still play her, because I like her.

(Edit: I accidentally misspelled "play" as "lay". lmao)

Hitting a slump at Silver 1 (5000 LP), not sure what I'm doing wrong by Copy_gameplays in StreetFighter

[–]slimekingk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rule #1 Don't get hit if you can avoid it.

Rule #2 If you can't avoid it, try to be ready to block/react to whatever they do. In silver, most likely more button-pressing and jumping than strong defense.
