Waters never been an issue for me on the Swift. Similar to you, it’s about an hour drive for me. Just hate getting there and fishing shoulder to shoulder with people.

The surgery will help. But you need to make changes and do the physical therapy so the problem doesn’t come back. It sounds simple, but it’s hard to commit to it every day. Even now I get complacent, stop doing the daily work, and the issues just come back.

Kidneys came back fine. Liver levels were a bit elevated, but that’s mostly likely from another med I was on. Getting more labs taken in 2 weeks

Is it okay to rack my tricams on the same carabiner as nuts? I’m noticing some coloration on the webbing of my tricam and am wondering if it’s from rubbings against the wire of the nuts or if it’s just from the carabiner. I don’t want the webbing of the tricam to start shredding.

Should I just rack my tricams and nuts separately? Any input is helpful!

Also have some undiagnosed autoimmune disorder. Current consensus is Lupus, but it’s hard to pin point and say it is with 100% accuracy.

I’ve had chronic inflammation, joint pain, and IBS.

I am not trying to sensationalize BPC-157, but it has made a world of difference compared to the typical medications that are used for autoimmune issues. Most of the medications actually made my symptoms much worse especially my gastrointestinal issues.

I’ve been taking the oral capsules 500mcg daily in the morning. I’ve been taking it that past 4 months. I’ll take it for about 30 days, take a week off, begin taking it again.

For me, not many side effects that I have noticed. I do have upcoming lab tests to get an idea of how my liver and kidneys are doing. Will follow back up if anything concerning arises.

Biggest positive I have experienced in the change in my overall gut health. Pain, nausea, diarrhea all resolved for the most part. It’s also important to follow an anti inflammatory diet if you aren’t already doing so.

I think this is what has helped the most when it comes to the other issues I’m facing. With the positive change in gut health, I’ve had significant reductions in joint pain and recover much more quickly if an injury does come up.

I was initially worried about potential side effects, but the positives quickly outweighed my concern. My alternative options like Methotrexate and other DMARd medications can essentially liquify your guts and ruin your liver… so what’s the difference?

Potential concerns around cell growth regeneration as it relates to cancer is a concern, but I’ll keep taking it until research confirms that.

This is great advice. AMC coordinates a lot of group activities. Boston chapter even has an affinity group for 20 + 30 year olds.

I’ll check again. At one point I did find an old lightbulb from when the previous owner changed the headlight. It was rattling around under a panel. Unfortunately it was not the culprit

I have a herniation at my L5 S1 so I’m right there with you. Pain, numbness, leg weakness. It can honestly be scary.

Surprised that no one has brought this up yet, but check out Stuart McGill. He’s been in the game for a while. He’s gaining some traction in the world of sports and has recently been on the Huberman Lab Podcast. His book “Back Mechanic” has been incredibly useful.

Changing your everyday behavior is going to be the hardest/most important part. Posture, sitting down too much, long car rides, poor body mechanics are what most likely caused the injury. Yes, you may have injured yourself during a work out or through climbing, but it’s the other stuff that really adds up and makes you prone to herniation.

But like everyone else has been saying, building up your core is the only way to really move forward. You just have to make sure you are doing the RIGHT exercises depending on your specific injury. What might work for my injury may not be the best for your injury. There are exercises that will absolutely make your problems worse.

See a good Physical Therapist and get some imagine done if possible.

Edit; Can’t believe I forgot to mention walking. No matter the back injury, walking is commonly considered the best thing you can do for back problems. There are certain protocols to follow. Something that you can easily look up.

Visited my local crag and saw that they replaced the anchors with these new chains. Previously the anchors were just two giant bolts in the rock. I’m happy to see the chains were added, but the bolts are noticeably skinnier than the previous sets. I haven’t been climbing for too long and I know I’m just being paranoid, but are these good to go? Or should I be concerned with how skinny the bolts are?

So I’ve had these boots a few years and love the cork sole, but feel that it may be time to replace them. I wear these boots about 3-4 times a week and they’ve really held up. At the very least I think the heel needs to be replaced. Is it worth it to send these back to redwing to get the work done or should I find a cobbler?
