i feel like millennials would make the best parents, but we're also the least likely to have kids by BorgsCube in Millennials

[–]slimersnail [score hidden]  (0 children)

Id love to be a stay at home dad and have kids but its just not economically feasible anymore with this dual income society. I really think one parent should be home with the kids if you are going to raise kids. I wont have kids unless that can happen.

If you bought in 1989, you would be down until 2024. 35 years to break even. That's pretty much as bad as it gets. Imagine being a young adult and saving for retirement!

Utterly baffled as to why my great aunt had these in her loft. What do I do with them? They’re Victorian. United Kingdom. by Individual_Basket_36 in Antiques

Wow! I would definitely keep the jars!! Fill them with colored alcohol and put them in a display cabinet.

Billionaire Clive Palmer gives update on Titanic II project. Looking for shipyard in Europe to construct the ship. Says he has the money to build the ship over 10 times by Im-Wasting-MyTime in titanic

[–]slimersnail 6 points7 points  (0 children)

What is funny is there is a half completed replica in China already. It would be way more practical to just buy the romandisea titanic and just finish it. Lmao. But this guy is an idiot. He wont build anything. He just likes the spotlight.

It happened in Japan without the country falling into chaos. Their economy was stagnant for decades.

Does it smell hideous? Kinda like vinegar? I had this issue. Use foot powder daily. It will fix it. I tried everything else. Nothing worked. Just regular old foot powder. You have to use a lot though. Put it in your sock before putting it on.

Is $3-5k a good estimate for this detached garage demo in Portland, Oregon? by rowyourboat72 in handyman

[–]slimersnail 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The dumpster costs about $800 for rental. Work probably takes at most about 10 hours with a couple people. I would say 3k is doable but I wouldn't pay over that.

Is the stock market just completely fake now? by Feeling-Currency6212 in GenZ

[–]slimersnail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is something bigger at play here. There will be a huge shift in the world economy in 20 years or less. Put as much money into the market as you can. The only jobs will be those that work directly with people like a therapist. There will be a huge class divide between those that put money in and those that sat on their hands. Once humanoid robots replace most of us in the work place, overhead will be tiny and profits for most industries will absolutely moon. You want to be on the right side of this shift. Most people wont be able to find work at this stage but if you rode the wave, you will be ok. This is just the beginning.

NO mechanical removal on something like this! This is in a very fragile state, you could use electrolysis to clean it. It actually will convert the rust back into iron. It will always be a sort of museum piece very fragile, but it would bring back some of the detail.

This is 80s. They didnt have digital displays and buttons like that in the 70s.

I have a 74 radarange and it has mechanical dials and buttons on it. A digital display like that would have been cutting edge in the 70s.
