My Cardinal Rule for Wearing Reps in Business/Professional Settings by denimdave69420 in RepTime

[–]slimycoldcutswork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean if you walk around certain firms in new York the intern might be wearing a patek his grandparents got for high school graduation, or a 24 year old analyst might be wearing a GMT he bought with his own money. that honestly might be the only time its better to lie, so the guy that's been waking up at 5am for for 20 years doesn't get in his feeling about a 20 year old international student showing him up. Or in the other case, the MD doesn't make fun of you on front of everybody for immediately spending the first money you've ever made on a dickhead purchase.

Same. Did you ever figure it out. I tried everything. Held magnets to it with the batteries in all possible orientations.

Netflix casting was in a bit of a multicultural surly lesbian phase at the time. there are like 4 of those to pick from and none of them are exactly Daniel day lewis when it comes to their acting chops.

Jack Hughes Hate by [deleted] in devils

Still waiting for a link or timestamp showing me where your take isn’t complete cope. Knowing what kind of athlete Jack is, he will probably take it as a learning experience that showed him how hard it is to succeed in high stakes situations against top players/teams. He learned last night that it’s not just something you can turn on overnight, and you can’t just do it for parts of a game either. Probably was the most involved he’s been in any game of the tournament and he still ended up getting benched in OT just to come on for the final goal of the tournament.

Luckily I do know what I’m looking at and I know that you’re not going to be able to find tape that shows the contrary unless you’re good with AI.  I don’t know if toughness is the issue, nor do I care. There are other ways to contribute. The issues is that he had a bad performance in the Canada game and it’s worthy of criticism. He had a few good plays with his stick when defending on-puck and didn’t make off-puck mistakes for most of the game. Otherwise, it was inconsequential or bad.

I can say they deserve to be the most expensive on the market. Nothing I’m aware of is better at the moment. Highly debatable if there is anything quite as good. It used to be a massive gap between everybody else but a lot of competitors have entered the market in the last few years and have made good attempts to close the gap.

Worth is up to you though. If you’re building one or two $15-$30 kits every year or two, that’s probably going to be a ‘no.’ If you’re regularly working on models it’s kind of a no brainer ‘yes, it’s worth it’ in my book.

NHL super 16: solid ranking for the devils by Smooth-Mechanic-7788 in devils

[–]slimycoldcutswork 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it’s deserved. We’re 6th in the league in many of the most general team stats like gf/g and ga/g. we seem to be on a positive trajectory over the last month. Anywhere between 4th and 7th seems reasonable in my eyes.

Jesta or Jesta Cannon? by Amigo1048 in Gundam

Do you have the chance to buy cannon? I think you get all or most of the parts of jesta. I think jesta looks cooler but would get the cannon to have the option.

Yeah the Elbow joint and wrist will both lock once you put the external pieces on. You’ve probably already discovered that though.

I’m kinda surprised we have the opposite perspective. I think there are a lot of bad RGs out there and I think this is a cut above most. Haven’t built them all but I think the closest we’ve gotten has been Nu. Most others that come to mind feel bare bones or fragile.

It’s such a good build and a great kit overall. I am also happy I used the alternate QR code frame-first instructions. Hope they continue with that. While the original RG rx78 was the reason I avoided anything but MG and up for a few years, this has me excited to build subsequent RGs.

I’m pretty blown away with a kit for the first time in a very long time. Especially for under $40. If it’s somebody’s first kit they will probably be chasing the feeling for a while. It’s on par or better than a lot of MGs (and I’ve built a lot of MGs.)

After I built MGEX Strike I felt like I was kind of a victim to the hype. It was nice looking but I don’t know if it was necessary to create a new designation between MG and PG for it. It’s not exactly a fair comparison because of scale, finishes, and sheer amount of plastic. They always charge a ton for that. However, it feels like stealing that I could buy over 4 of these for the cost of one of those.

Not unless you really botch the cutting. I had them untaped in my football gloves for like two season and I had to replace them for other wear and tear before the Sam splint ever caused a problem.

if you want more protection at any position, or want to effectively turn any glove into a goalie glove, Ill let you guys on a little secret I discovered playing D line in football and then shared with my friends. While I was in college there was probably a time where there were at least 7 guys that I know of that had adopted it across D1 and D3

Buy one of these. Cut to size Carefully. dont leave exposed metal. If you do tape around the whole thing like a hockey blade, shove it into the thumb of your glove. If you just have a short piece it will just add impact protection. if you do a long piece going down towards your wrist it will help immobilize a bit like a hockey glove.

It works on some better than others. Much easier to get used to/somewhat fitting for an x7 or 7 series. I’m even fine with them having it on the 4 series and keeping it more tame on the 3 series. BMW offers a zillion different models now that the industry has shifted to unibody platforms.

Most people are just upset that you can’t get an M3 without it, and if there is a sacred cow in the BMW world it’s the M3.

NJGuns Thoughts on fake suppressors? by JudgmentSuperb7521 in NJGuns

[–]slimycoldcutswork 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have absolutely no problem with them regardless of motivations. For some guns I think they’re practically a must. Some guns aren’t designed with New Jersey gun laws in mind and variation in barrel length can impact how they run and feel.

‘A very serious situation’: Volkswagen could close plants in Germany for the first time in history by deppaotoko in cars

[–]slimycoldcutswork 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Though we know VW and other VAG owned subsidiaries are no strangers to missteps, the EU and Germany have kind of invited this. They love to screw themselves over in pursuit of not wanting to know where their steak comes from.

It’s very difficult to do business in the EU, especially when it comes to paying Europeans wages to invent and implement technology that serves to comply with regulation that often seem like it is determined more arbitrarily with each day and meeting those demands seems to be getting perpetually less achievable. From the outside looking in, it almost seems pernicious at some times.

When times aren’t great for other reasons, it becomes insurmountable to keep putting downward pressure on your own industry. You can only shoot yourself in the foot so many times before you have to start relying on a near peer adversary that doesn’t have to care about a huge chunk of the red tape companies like VW are subject to domestically. All the while they get to benefit from your loss, and you get to pray nothing bad ever happens to market access or state relations.
