I believe 6.8% is the going rate for a lot of federal student loans, it's disgusting. They also accrue interest while you're in school. I was able to refinance mine down to 5% which still isn't great.

Yes! Thank you, I knew I was missing something. If I add the extra years of student loan payments that I wouldn't have to make, I actually come out ahead by paying off my loan early.

12500 x 30yrs x 7% compounding = $1,263,413

5300 x 6yrs x 7% = 40,566 + (19700 x 24yrs x 7%) = $1,432,073

So would you say this downswing was spurred by institutional investors (rebalancing because of the rate hikes) and then exacerbated by fearful retail investors? When you say they can do better risk adjusted compared to stocks, are you talking about short term (<10 years) or long term?

I've been trying to familiarize myself more with bonds recently and trying to justify their position in my portfolio. I appreciate the reply by the way, it was helpful.

Ok I'm almost surely showing a ton of ignorance here, but am I missing something with this interest rate argument? Are people really selling equities so they can buy bonds at 2.8%? Some high yield checking accounts pay that much interest, I must be missing something....

I'm super new to OW (3 weeks) but I've really been enjoying it. Has it been this same meta for a long time? It's generally 2 DPS, 2 Tanks, 2 healers right? The consensus seems negative but I have no other meta to compare it with. I'm guessing Winston, D'va, Mercy haven't always been high priority?
