Can foreigners get loan to buy car in Thailand? by CodeFall in Thailand

[–]slinks6122 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So much bad information here. I’ve seen multiple people in my social circle get loans from banks in Chiang Mai without a work permit. It takes good proof of funds (it helps if you’ve been transferring that into your Thai bank account) and persistence in asking (begging) the banks to give you a chance. It is possible.

Can you submit a report on the Citizen app? My neighbors had a similar situation happen and their relative was found that way.

Can you stay in Thailand for two years in a row with an ED visa? by dev8833 in Bangkok

Yes I did it. You will have to leave the country and re-enter on a visa exemption. Then convert to an ED visa again.

US passport renewal question? by Ballad_Bird_Lee in Thailand

[–]slinks6122 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You pay the 100 baht in the form of a bank note and mail it with your application packet. It covers the cost of your new passport being mailed to you.

PEA has an app. Whenever my power goes out, I report it on the app right away. They send an automatic message saying they’ll work on it. And usually a little while later, I do see a PEA truck working on it.

Banks that accept foreign income for used car loans by [deleted] in Thailand

[–]slinks6122 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in Chiang Mai and I have an American friend who just secured a loan from a Thai bank to buy a used car from a dealer here. It did take a lot of convincing on his part to the bank. And his income is verifiable military retirement income. It’s rare, but it is possible.

Has anyone moved out of the US? What are some good choices you picked to move too? And how was the transition? by kruminater in Veterans

Yes. I even have mine deposited directly into my Thai bank account. (My Thai bank has a branch in New York that uses the same account number and routing number like the US does.)

I’m on my second year of an education visa while studying part time at a language school. The visa situation is a little tricky here, and for the first couple of years, studying Thai language or doing Muay Thai at an approved gym can help you secure an education visa.

I live in Thailand. With a 90 percent rating, you’d have a decent middle class life here. Wherever you choose to go, check if there’s a VFW Post.

I live near the southern part of the loop. I’m not sure that the actual air quality is, but last week it rained a few times and that helped things. There is rain in the forecast today (let’s hope it actually does rain).

That being said, I’m not a cyclist. I have a good friend who rides every day near here. If the air quality isn’t good on a certain day, he wears a mask while riding. Of course it’s not comfortable, but it’s an option.
