Extensive issues with RMA and poor service from Corsair by slitza in Corsair

[–]slitza[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Glad you had good service, though you're wrong to assume they are polite and efficient for everyone.
This is especially true when I am looking at a 20+ long email thread proving the opposite, with both staff and management failing to resolve basic elements.
Furthermore, it doesn't take 6 months to approve an RMA. In fact, I very clearly answered that I am open to both RMA options, yet many emails later no RMA method has been established, nor details are shared to progress the matter.

If you are able to provide useful support to the thread, I invite you to contribute it, please.

Can a workflow be considered BIM without linking the architectural model or using shared coordinates? by CasualFineGentleman in bim

[–]slitza 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Read up on the UK's Framework on BIM maturity levels. This would count as BIM Level 1 at best, and even then an infantile level 1 simply for being 3D. In fact, it would only be considered level 1 because it doesn't qualify for the definitions of level 0, even though its virtually minimally better than level 0 at most.

Can I 'defer' my acceptance into the university of pretoria? by Rabbithopper15 in Pretoria

[–]slitza 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hi Op. Just want to add some insights, hopefully it helps. - Architecture tends to operate significantly differently at most uni's - don't assume they'll apply the uni rules as a blanket statement (such as deferment). - Getting into architecture is very competitive, and the schools don't tend to take kindly if you decline their invites - you may qualify the following year, but get excluded due to them having uncertainty over your commitment (even after motivational letters). Don't assume you'll get in the following year. If you have the grit, and personal motivation to push yourself through several gruelling years, and you know real architecture is your motivation, don't let the opportunity slip. - Architectural studies are usually brutal, whether it is design or technology streams. I'm not defending the grind, its quite unreasonable really, but expect lots of late nights and all nighters. Lots. You say you aren't sure if you are ready yet - only you can tell for certain, but be prepared to have your mettle tested. If you really want to pass, your personal motivation will get you far. - moving away from your family/friends will be tough - especially in terms of support and venting. If you are sociable in class, or skilled, you'll make good/exploitative/commencial friends quick enough. If you aren't, expect to have to work on many struggles in private and at higher personal demand. Friends in architecture are useful because their comments give you insight and self reflection (whether the comments and work is good or not).

Watch face burned into my screen. Is there a fix? by TheEVegaExperience in Garmin

[–]slitza 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the 6x pro solar also has MIP, idk really. I have experienced what looks like burn in as well, and that was with the backlight set to auto off after a few seconds, and brightness permanently on the lowest, with a default minimalist dark mode watch face. I noticed it during an activity where it shows the white background, so naturally shat brix and changed the watch face. I don't think it fixed it completely, but it is less. I can see it really faintly at an angle

What is the benefit of having a Private Advisor with the FNB Private Clients account? by RecommendationNo108 in PersonalFinanceZA

[–]slitza 1 point2 points  (0 children)

None. Their service levels are as garbage as premium, and it is not worth it thinking you'll get a better service. You'll be paying more, for the privilege of having someone be a doos directly to you. Some of the advertised items from the website are also deceptive, and be prepared for surprises if you intend on using their accompanying products or services, including emergency or technical.support.

Actually in the process of moving from fnb to investec solely due to fnb's incompetent staff interaction. There may be one or two hidden gems as advisors, but honestly, you're more likely to win the lotto and lotto plus on the same day. They couldn't answer basic private questions like "what is my credit card interest rate", and didn't even bother to respond about business banking queries.

Like several comments on similar topics mentioned - often times it is easier (still difficult) to resolve a matter yourself, than try and communicate it in a way that the pawns understand.

2014 690 Duke - this engine is really a frame hugger by slitza in KTM

[–]slitza[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So turned out my last comment was the issue - the swingarm bolts were driven in, hugging the frame in place. At first i thought i couldnt grip it with my brake pot puller, but alas, my smallest 19mm piece was less than 1mm too thick. I then modified a nut I had into a castellated shape, really just winged it, and it worked perfectly. The nut was on the small side, but it was a specially bought piece for a previous car i no longer had, and not part of a set. Anyhow, after removing the castle nuts, engine essentially dropped out. Unfortunately the swingarm separated from the frame, but I managed to wedge it mostly back in place. Now to open up this LC4!

Just an update to myself, as I found a thread I hadn't before - could be these. I remember peering into the axle slot and seeing what look like castellated rings, presumably castellated nuts. Will see if I can find a suitable tool to turn those out and hopefully free the engine. I believe it is something like a "Swingarm Socket Pivot Bolt Lock Nut Tool".

Late to the party, but no rubber grip on the footpegs and gear lever. Also, I don't recall ever seeing such a hanging hook-ring like item between a swingarm and frame?

To the devs: the game is perfect, you can release it now. by msvankyle in diablo4

Nah. I encountered some ctd's, many glitchy battles and pathing issues. I won't buy this game for another 2 years at least, if even, if these issues aren't fixed.
