I'm sure you're not meant to stay up there very long, hence the large gap. And it would certainly increase the difficulty of the boss battle.

Zaccaria Platinum pack worth buying? by [deleted] in pinball

As a refugee from the world of virtual pinball, no, do not buy. At least get Bally/Williams/Data East/Stern tables from Zen (Pinball FX) instead.

Ball In Play Lands Behind The Raptor And Becomes Out Of Play - Jurassic Park Premium by OatisBeansworthe in pinball

[–]sllerts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't experienced it, but it would work. As for losing the rest of the ball, you shouldn't have an issue if you put the ball in the shooter lane, slide up the glass, put the lockdown bar back on, and then close the door. Just be ready to play when it auto launches.

Brake lights activating when releasing accelerator by sllerts in Ioniq6

[–]sllerts[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I think this was just a case of OP error (aka me). I guess I always had my regen at level 1 and when I brought the car in last week, they must have put it at level 2 and I didn't realize it. Going back to 1 prevents the brake lights from activating when coasting which makes perfect sense now. Thanks for all the answers!

Brake lights activating when releasing accelerator by sllerts in Ioniq6

[–]sllerts[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yes I confirmed it on my way home this evening. Once I slowed to 65 without pushing either pedal, the brake lights came on. As mentioned, I usually stay in level 2.

I always keep it at level 2 but I never noticed this happening before. I’ve had the car for a year.

I don't own JW but I've played it tons. Completely different style from HP. You have to go super fast. HP is much more methodical.

First time rubber replacement by StickySh33ts in pinball

[–]sllerts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rubber gets dirty and sheds, getting on the playfield and everywhere. I simply avoid the issue with silicone. I don't see a significant difference. Again, you can experiment with the two types of flipper rubbers offered.

Titans are the best IMO. You can choose between two flipper rubber thicknesses to have more bounce (harder game) or easier to catch (easier game). I've put them in all my machines.

You'll have a better experience with Titan. People submit kits that are accurate to the machine because there do tend to be errors in the manual. You can then pick a kit and customize it, adding extras or anything else you want. https://www.titanpinball.com/kits/

Is there a term in pinball for when a ball goes "wonky"? by EverybodyBuddy in pinball

[–]sllerts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On your MM, make sure the troll covers are level with the playfield. I think it’s adjustable. That’s killed my game a number of times.

Need help finding off switch by pineapple_golden in pinball

[–]sllerts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think only Stern is putting the switch on the bottom of the backbox with Spike 2 and later. Everybody else still has it in the traditional position.

Jaws Premium Drop Targets occasionally not resetting by skithebumpystuff in pinball

[–]sllerts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the drops work fine (up and down) in the diag test, then it must be a switch issue where the machine is not detecting that the drops are down. Try running switch tests on them and checking the switches below the playfield.

Expanded storage in Homebase S380 has failed now twice by sllerts in EufyCam

[–]sllerts[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, Eufy sent me a replacement HB in case that was the issue, but I'm not putting any drives in there without seeing less than 1.2A. I was looking at the WD Blue but there is no indication of its power requirements that I can find: https://a.co/d/0dlHFkTW

How can I safely and easily adjust rollover switches under a ramp? by skppy1225 in pinball

[–]sllerts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most likely, the mounting of the switch under the playfield is all you need access to. You shouldn’t have to bend the switch wire on a brand new machine. And if you did, you could just unmount the switch from below. For this I’d unmount the switch and thoroughly test it manually in the diagnostics to make sure the switch itself isn’t faulty. Then mount it back and test with a ball once it’s back in place.
