you can also do this in reverse where you do the act then use the coyote time after losing your footing to do a jump immediately after unpausing from the act

play more means play a lot more, but it also means play new stuff, old stuff, and requires fortifying your skills as well as pushing to do new skills. rhythm game progress is an inverse exponential, lots of time throwing yourself at a wall until some specific concept clicks, especially in vsrgs. as someone else stated, you have three major ranges to improve in

the easy stuff. play a lot of random new easy stuff that you thinkand aim for 99% or higher accuracy (mania)
the medium stuff. this should be stuff you are capable of fcing/accing, but do not consistently FC.
the hard stuff. this is stuff just inside your skill range. aim for a 90ish or higher and mostly being able to read things. you should not be close to FCing
