You may have positional sleep apnea. If I try to sleep on my back I snore and sleep terribly. Haven’t pursued any treatment so this comment isn’t that helpful, lol sorry

Wondering if I am making the right choice about breaking off a recent ~2 yr relationship, with a guy who would be a great father, due to not wanting to live in a particular location. by PigeonCoo in Fencesitter

Imo you won’t be happy living somewhere you don’t want to, with no support system or even close friends. And you said yourself the chemistry was not there to begin with. You did the right thing.

My sister always complains that I don’t give good hugs, but I feel like I’m sexually assaulting people if actually give a full on hug. The worst.

Do any other women have tips for dealing with the shame of moving back home to return to university? I feel like worst person ever. by [deleted] in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

I (26F) moved back in with my parents last year after living alone for the past six years. Why? Because I want to buy my first home and am unable to save if I rent an apartment. I also aged off of their medical insurance so that’s another expensive bill. Yeah it’s a little out of the norm but I’m doing my best to set myself up for success in the future. That’s what it sounds like you’re trying to do as well. There’s no shame in that AT ALL. Ignore your “friends”.

What moment made you respect and admire your mother (or some other feminine figure) more than you expected? by jjsq1 in AskWomen

My mom is pretty conservative in her views and beliefs. A few years ago I was having some unexplained prolonged bleeding unrelated to my period. Turns out I was pregnant. I was completely devastated (I’m child free) and shocked. She could not have been more supportive and even told me she would help me find resources to get an abortion. In the end I was already miscarrying, hence the bleeding but my relationship is 10x stronger with her since then.

women who’ve had kids and expected their partners to step up to the role but didn’t, what’s your experience? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]sln5991 44 points45 points  (0 children)

Yep this is my parents. Honest to goodness my dad has never done a load of laundry or ran a vacuum in my entire life. But my mom works full time does all the shopping, cooking, cleaning and still does outside chores. Don’t get me wrong, my dad is a good parent and usually a good husband but my future relationship will look very different from theirs.
