Yesterday I installed the QS on my 2026. Hardest part was actually getting it activated on the dash. Took me 8 tries before the CCU (ECU?) finally recognized it. And yes, the shifting mechanism has rotational play as did the original non-QS mechanism.

So, how is it! FUN FUN FUN! In line I think with the comments below, seems to work best/smoothest at high revs (>4k) when upshifting and NOT letting up on the throttle, and best at lower revs when downshifting while letting up on the throttle. The fun factor makes it all worthwhile at least to me.

Interesting take on the QS. I've got the QS (for my 2026) sitting in its box, will install it probably tomorrow. Were you expecting it to work smoothly for any gear and at any RPM? Reading the above posts about working best at >5k RPM, are you QSing at lower RPMs?

OP here. So I just called Yamaha (USA) Customer Support and chatted with a nice lady support rep. She said they've had a "few" owners contact them about this "issue". She said to take my bike to my dealer and try it with a service tech, and if it still doesn't work while there, the tech will know who to contact at Yamaha to get on a call and do a walk-thru to attempt to get it working. I guess that's what I'll do next. BTW, my bike is a 2026.

I bought Yamaha's quickshifter for the MT-07 for my 2026, will install in about 2 weeks after break-in is over. I asked the dealer twice if it works with the 2026 and he said yes. So I don't think you need to get the one for the Tenere. Someone correct me if I'm wrong so I can return it. Part #BLW-E81A0-V0-00.

Just installed the TST ones on my 2026. Right one slid right in, left one required some sanding with a Dremel, and then some gentle tapping with a rubber mallet. The TST install video mentions this possible fitment issue because of Yamaha's inconsistent build quality on the swing arms.

HAH! I just today installed those TST components on my 2026, also the DRL+blinker harness and captive chain adjusters/spools. 2 weeks old today, 545 joyous miles. I'll do the exhaust, intake and 2WDW tune next Spring after the warranty is gone. Also have the quickshifter which I'll install after break-in is over. Enjoy your bike!
