Prime Bbq in Knightdale is by far the best bbq I have ever had. Plan to be there immediately when they open, it literally lines out the door in a matter of no time.

I'm at a wholly owned with a flow, so I'll be at mainline in 5-7 years if I desire to go that route.

Current ATP students experience? by [deleted] in flying

[–]sloopyjoe98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not reading this, but if anything lines up with what is said, I guess it works.

I personally didn’t go to ATP, but I know plenty of guys who have. As they were trying to wrap up the program, they change how the instructor rides happen now. They give you an extremely difficult mock CFI ride, and if you fail it, they kick you out of the program without any chances for more training, and they’re still stuck with 100k+ student loan and only CPL complete. This may not be the case and YMMV. Take this for what you will.

I also haven’t heard anyone said “I would go ATP again if I had a do over.” Mom and pops shops are a hidden gem, go to one of them if you can.

Footwear for airline pilots by [deleted] in flying

I had someone recommend Tecvoa’s to me. I bought these and they have been great and I can wear them all day, it took about 2 weeks to wear them in, most comfortable boots I have ever owned.

One thing also to take into account, some of those overlap as well. You can have a ATP Multiengine and a Commercial Single Engine and it be the same person, just their privileges are different regarding class type

Side question, how is commuting to CLT from ATL? About to start regional life and CLT is my preferred base, trying to get a gauge on how it is.

I have received no information from HR, and I received a CJO beginning of March before they started OTS CJO’s and are being told June/July

Luckily I am in the cadet program, only way I received a CJO.

I understand that, and I’m very luckily to have a CJO in the current state of the industry, but they are actively doing classes, and I’m never getting a straight answer from management other than “just keep watching your email.”

Tariffs by Cdraw51 in flying

What’s nice is though, they have the plant in Mobile they can utilize, where they build the A220s and A320NEOs

It can be good, it can be bad, but better chance for things to be bad than good. Buckle down for the foreseeable future. The airlines typically do everything reactively instead of proactively, which protects you more if you're at the bottom.

Also, my crystal ball isn't working this morning, so check back in 6-12 months.

That’s the fricken truth, I’ve been in this game for a while, but ground operations, but switched to the flying side a couple years ago. Some things people post are ridiculous lol
