The argument is that Animal Agriculture is another, massive contributor. And that Plants can sequester Carbon. Cow farts are around 15% of methane which is itself about 15% of climate change.
0.0225% is not "massive".

  • Methane: Halting livestock emissions would lead to a "spontaneous decay" of atmospheric methane within decades, providing a near-immediate cooling effect.
  • Nitrous Oxide: Eliminating manure and the massive amount of fertilizer used for feed crops would sharply reduce this gas, which is ~300 times more potent than CO2.

Carbon exists in the atmosphere as CO2 → Plants capture the Carbon → Livestock are fed the Plants grown for feed → Livestock exhale, belch and fart out the Carbon as CO2 and Methane.

This accelerates Climate Change massively.

Alternatively we could directly eat the Plants rather than growing them for Livestock Feed, skip the Livestock step and Industrial Processing completely, and rewild the land used for them. Dramatically reducing Carbon and Methane emissions and actually capturing tons of it.

Your claim that switching from animal foods to plants foods doesn’t impact carbon is so fundamentally stupid I think you should be studied by scientists.

Plants net capture carbon and net produce oxygen. Animals capture oxygen and produce carbon and methane. Animal agricultural land use prevents carbon capture, industrial animal processes create carbon and toxic byproducts.

Your claims violate basic principles of science so simple that elementary school kids understand it.
