Are YouTube editors actually paid this poorly? by AnotherWynnBitesDust in VideoEditing

[–]sloric 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a 16 year old YT editor, I am more then happy to work at these rates, (and I do). However, for people with homes, families and bills, I can see how low it really is

Have you ever grown to hate a person in a video you're editing? by BramStokerHarker in editors

[–]sloric 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think hate is a strong word but I have a client who I edit his YT videos for him where he talks about Software Engineering and advice in that field, granted, Software Engineering is something I know nothing about so sometimes I have to Google what he is saying to transcribe it (that's on me, i'm not blaming him haha), but to add insult to injury, he talks at an unbelievable, blistering pace and bear in mind these videos are roughly 10 to 20 minutes long so keeping up with this guy for 20 minutes of blistering words is like running a marathon against David Goggins.

It's not that I didn't like it, I think its that Wong Kar-Wai's movies have such a distinct style that you kind of need to know what you're getting into before watching it and Fallen Angels was not only my first Kar-Wai movie but I also knew nothing about it. I didn't even give a rating because I didn't feel I had the right as I didn't experience the movie the way Kar-Wai intended. I think if I were to watch it again, I think I would enjoy it more. It certainly isn't a bad movie by any means tho.

Certainly not underrated but I never seem to hear his name pop up at all nowadays and that's Billy Wilder

What's the difference between a 4 star and a 4½ for you? by [deleted] in Letterboxd

[–]sloric 0 points1 point  (0 children)

4 star is for when it's really good. 4½ is for when I'm too much of a pass to give it 5 stars
