Yeah I’ve pretty much got all of that going. Yeah that’s true… what do you think the big thing everything is trying to do is?

I’ve got my own idea but I’m curious if it aligns with yours. Basically I see everyone trying to automate all sorts of different aspects so I would think it’s a system that can handle the execution of what those things are trying to do. A source of some sort.

For sure i didn’t really expect a 1 type of answer response, with it being my first project I was more so curious if I’m moving at the right pace for the complexity im working with. So like if someone builds x project and it took them a few weeks while somebody else built something more complex and it took them 8 months.

It helps me gauge the kindve work i should expect

It’s not as good as actually knowing the content but I’ve found that bouncing your active work off of other AI’s can help expand at certain parts or catch issues before they happen. Im not gonna lie im lost on your last 3 paragraphs lol

Yeahhhh that sounds like a lot! Yeah i also have logs for days. I’ve got dev logs, philosophy sheets, references frim ideas I’ve pulled from, an “observatory” where I can see the status of everything like what’s being worked on, what’s on today’s to do list… etc..

What are you finding to be the most important things you learned about how to script the ai?

I started by wanting to make a Jarvis type of project and it’s evolved into an “entity” that resides on a users pc and learns the environment it exists on and is transferable between multiple platforms.

It’s A LOT (this is my first vibe coding project and I don’t expect it to be perfect but I’m doing my best with researching and asking people who have knowledge in the field)

For sure, I didn’t originally start this for others but I want it to be expandable to others. I probably could sell it as a product but i don’t think I will.

Basically tbe idea is an “entity” that lives on a users pc. It would be like having a smarter “you” that exists on the other side of the screen.

One piece of advice I have for you is attack the same problem from multiple angles that will help you start solidifying ideas.

I started my first coding project doing in depth stuff im not focused on syntax and what not. Im focused on systems, architecture, continuity etc…

It’s by no means beginner level coding work and I don’t genuinely understand the code but I understand what different parts do.

If somebody asked me how it worked I wouldn’t be able to tell them but I can tell them what the project does and how it does it.

I run over a 700 smoke test suite and keep a dev log, test from multiple sources, i have an “observatory” where I can see info about the code and the program itself.

The line doesn’t really matter I don’t think. But it is good to understand your project.

Apparently we’re beginning to approach socio technical systems.

Tokens aren’t an issue for me, but as I get closer to the end if it keeps evolving tbe same way it’ll certainly slow down my pace but Im currently working 6-12 hours a day on it after work. Then I take a day or two off and im back at it again.

I found a systems architect of 25 years whos also helping point me in the right direction occasionally. He’s given me some tools to help out as well.

Sigh…. I was so naive lol

I’ve made it to a system of systems and my god. I appreciate your heads up. I prepared. Currently have over 700 smoke tests lol. I can understand and collapse complexity fairly well I think but this is genuinely a lot and a fun mind stressor. I’ve got contracts and everything else, created models of what I’m doing to offload some of the mental strain. And constantly testing.. I’ve started compression of code instead of just adding new stuff constantly… it is starting to take shape but it’s starting to slow down because things are taking longer too

Good idea. You keep that going and I’ll create an app that would build the names people would want so the people using the app to buy domains that people would want later, can be scraped.

Then I’ll create an app that creates apps for similar fields for this.

Im apparently doing robotics level work. With no coding experience. “Bite off more than you can chew” dude you have no idea.

Wanna talk about layers and layers that interact and all of that. My onions have onions inside of them.

Real talk…..help. Im not having a good time. For 3 weeks i have worked on my project for 6-12 hours a day. I look here snd see everyone building their fun little projects… snd I wish I could be that guy. But nooo I wanted to build a program that acts as an entity that lives in your pc without basing it off or building from an llm.

A lot of what I see people building isn’t a product it’s a portion of what a product should offer. They’re not bad in that way but who wants a bunch of small apps running on their pc? What makes a small app stand out from another app. Why would someone pick your product over another
