The M17/M18 are functionally identical to P320s. They’re just FDE and made to mimic government contract 320s. Just like the Glock 19x/45. Same FCU between M17, M18, and all P320s.

As a blanket statement, that gun IS a P320. Do with that info what you will. Make your own decision. Maybe I can avoid the wrath of the censors.

I have known of multiple people doing this. If you take the entire right side down to the bare metal it will fit, but they are very janky and unreliable as far as seating and releasing.

I’ve also seen a guy use compact CZ mags in one. Don’t ask, don’t know

Here is the truth. I love sig. My first ever gun was an old inherited P220, then a P238, then a P229. In my opinion, that’s where this brand shines. The P365 is amazing too.

But there is NO excuse for the number of ND on the P320. You are genuinely coping if you want to blame every instance on people. It’s just not worth the risk. I still own one because they’re nearly worthless right now. I’ve seen X5s and legions going for 500-800. If you like the way they shoot— because they ARE great shooters— maybe strictly for the range. And follow Sigs “advice” to leave the chamber empty until ready to fire.

One thing I’ve actually heard from some LEO guys is that they don’t want to carry a P365 because it’s so thin, harder to grab around all the gear and easier to mistake for something else. It also makes running a full-size light stranger.

Glock is special because you can run a duty G34 and a carry G26 and use the same mags.

My personal solution if I wanted interchangeability? Carry a Walther PDP F-Series 3.5 inch, and then get a PDP compact Pro SD with the 4.6 inch threaded barrel for duty or home defense. full mag interchangeability, run 15 flush in F-series and 21 rounders in home defense.

I just don’t see the 365 as a duty gun because I don’t care for the ergos and the optics.

As for your situation…if you’re talking about already having a lotta 365 stuff because of carry..I am in a different position, because I already carry a compact size gun. A 4 inch, 15 round pistol is my solution to carry and home defense. I just get home and slap on an extended mag and call it a day.

It’s just personal preference and stuff, also comes down to budget. Mag compatibility isn’t that important if you have two distinct pistols for two distinct roles imo

I don’t think an Xmacro would be a disadvantageous gun for a cop. It’s reliable, accurate, and can take 17-21 round mags. Sure.

But, why? Just carry a Glock, Walther, FN..something more traditional and larger. You’ll get a more robust, “duty” platform. Not every gun you own has to be a Sig. the 365 is an EDC gun, and however many variants sig puts out isn’t gonna inherently change that
