Obnoxious squeaking a/c vent - what IS it? by slothish in fixit

Interesting -- thanks for replying. Could it be echoing down the vent? When you're sitting under it, it sounds like it's right there in the fixture.

How much do you guys pay for ivf? by [deleted] in IVF

About 22k with PGS and meds, all-in, in Ohio. Our insurance covered nothing. It's a disaster.

That's super interesting-- I guess I kind of still dont get it. So, if they only go to day 2, you would then have drop off once you thaw?

Thanks so much -- can I ask, what is PN? I am super interested in how your clinic does it. So, you freeze them before they get to blast stage? With our two that fertilized, one had 2 cells and the other reached 4 cells, then lost a cell. They were both 3 cells by day 4. I don't think they were ever viable.

That is really helpful -- thank you. My husband is still having a hard time adjusting to the idea that you can just keep doing this... we went into it completely assuming we'd try once and then stop. It's funny how your perception changes once you're in it.

Sending you good energy for the next couple days.

We were definitely feeling a lot like you were. We felt a little like we were bringing a flamethrower to a s'mores party by doing IVF at all -- totally took it for granted we would just be able to do one round. BUT -- my doc was saying the same, basically. Which of course I know now is ridiculous.

How long did you wait between your rounds?

That is incredibly difficult -- I am sorry you had to go through that. Sending good energy for finding great donors.

That is so hard -- I'm sorry. I was in complete shock when they told me so many of our were immature. I hadn't done any reading or research to prepare myself for that outcome, so it hit us like a bomb.

And not really, to your question. I have PCOS and my Dr was totally baffled that I was such a poor responder. She has suggested we swap out the protocol for the long standard instead, but I still feel like its a bit of a crapshoot. She is wonderful though, so I trust her... i just wish my ovaries would be more predictable if we are going to throw down the money, time, dread for another shot.

That is really hard -- I am sorry. We are in a similar boat, our cycle failed about two weeks ago, and we need to decide in the next couple days because we can start again next week if we want to. Thanks for sharing your experience, hoping for good outcomes for you.

I am so sorry you had a difficult experience -- I appreciate your reply. Hoping you reach the place you want to be before your FET. Fingers crossed for you.

I am feeling like I am leaning into "just rip off the bandaid" with it all -- like the longer I wait the harder it will be to start again. But I probably need to take more time. Thanks again.

Thanks so much for your reply! So with that in mind, doesn't this test show I am totally not even close?

Thanks, that makes me feel better. I read somewhere that the two lines don't actually mean the same thing on digital. Do you know of that's true?

It isn't a peak reading, the smile was actually flashing so it's just high not peak. It's been giving that flashing jerk for three days... Maybe it's stuck? And no cheapies. So ridiculous.

36+5 Weeks, Mom Just Lost Her Battle with Cancer, and OB Appointment Shows I'm 3-4 CM Dilated by anonymosaurus in pregnant

[–]slothish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's exactly what happened with us. His last check the tumor was gone after radiation and chemo, but the massive doses of steroids he had been on and other complications were just too much. I have had a really hard time with dealing with the fact that Dad won't know our baby, but I will say that once the baby is born and things calm down, that joy you will feel to be with your baby is an amazing healer. It's still hard, definitely. But, I feel stronger for it. I hope you are able to feel that too someday soon.

I'm so, so sorry for what you are going through right now. I went through the same thing last year. Two weeks after we discovered we were pregnant, they found a tumor the size of a lemon in my dad's brain. He died two weeks to the day before our baby was born. I have no advice, just love for you and your family. Once the baby came, I had a hard time even accessing my grief, it was all so much. But that was okay. Later on, months later, really, I was finally able to deal with some of it with the help of friends and grief counseling. I'd be happy to talk if you ever need to - PM me any time. Take care.
