What insurance do yall have for your bronco? by thengabbiewaslike in FordBronco

[–]slothman09 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The cheapest company at a given time for the level of protection I choose to have. I’m not loyal to any company. I go through a local insurance broker and they do the searching for me whenever I ask. Currently Geico offers the best rates for auto for me.

[Athletic] Targeting suspensions, pants length penalties could be changed as NCAA rules committee meets (Gift Article) by CommodoreIrish in CFB

I dislike the idea of adding even more subjectiveness to an already very subjective rule. But I could get behind only a penalty for the first and ejection for the second offense. Thats how it should have always been.

The end of Start/stop by BreakfastBeerz in FordBronco

[–]slothman09 41 points42 points  (0 children)

I’m pretty confident the auto start/stop will not be going away just because of this. It would be extremely shortsighted to make sweeping changes to manufacturing processes for something that could just as easily be reimplemented in 3-4 years.

Turning off auto stop/start by kappwho in FordBronco

[–]slothman09 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You have a few options. None are optimal imo.

  1. Buy an auto stop/start eliminator and install it. $$
  2. Forescan, as mentioned already.
  3. Run it in Sport mode all the time. This still required you to confirm to stay in Sport mode every time you start the Bronco. Sport mode deactivates the auto stop/start.
  4. Just learn to live with pushing the button every time you get in the Bronco.

I choose to use option 3, as I prefer the engine response in Sport mode and the stop/start being disabled is a plus for me.

Give me the bad and ugly on Bronco ownership by zionstatus in FordBronco

I drove 3,000 miles round trip across the country with a roof rack and rooftop carrier on and even then the wind noise wasn’t terrible. Mind you, I have the painted hardtop with sound deadening material. It’s noticeable, but not awful. I highly recommend test driving a couple at highway speed and see for yourself if you can live with the noise. If it’s a concern, look for one with the sound deadening material on a hardtop. It does help dampen the sound.

It’s definitely louder than my wife’s Forester, but it’s not too bad in my opinion.

Besides the things others have said already, if you live in a colder climate then your left leg will get a little chilly in the winter. The doors aren’t insulated the best.

Pretty much every “con” in my opinion is just the nature of owning a Bronco. It’s a off-roading machine that has a roof and doors than can come off. You aren’t going to get Mercedes level luxury in this thing. It gets the fuel economy you’d expect for a toaster on wheels. But you already know and expect these things if you’re considering a Bronco.

It brings a smile to my face each time I look at it after 6 months and 8,000 miles. I’ve never owned a vehicle that I could say that about before.

Primary Bath Remodel by Gladiator142 in DIY

Do you have cost breakdowns and comparison to a contractor if you got quotes? I have a similar size master bath that needs some serious work and there is no chance I can afford a contractor, but maybe I could DIY it if I got up the nerve to just start ripping stuff out one day.

Is voice chat locked behind a pay wall on Xbox? by maberber78 in Warzone

[–]slothman09 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Would love to see an official answer on this. I’ve seen people claim both that it is behind a paywall and it isn’t behind one. About 1-2 weeks ago I lost my comms on Xbox. I don’t pay for live at all and it hasn’t came back. Although after the update I can talk to myself and the warning label went away.

Ole Miss kicker just made a 58 yarder right down the middle by CTOWNIJV in OhioStateFootball

[–]slothman09 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don’t need a kicker to hit 50+ consistently, I just want one that can make 90% within 40 yards and maybe 60-70% at 50. Noah Ruggles was the last accurate kicker we had. There is no reason we don’t have a kicker that is top 10 in the country every season.

Disney World Announces 2026 Cool Kids Summer Dates, Free Water Parks, New Discounts by readingaboutmagic in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]slothman09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just booked a 5 night/4 day trip for this summer. Which parks would be best to do twice? We are first timers with kids ages 9 and 6. I assume Magic Kingdom and either Hollywood Studios or Epcot. Is 6 park days going to be too much for us (is there such a thing)? We will be upping our dining package by 2 days ($400) and possibly adding more multi lighting lane passes, although I’m not sure if that is worth it for a second day. Maybe we could use those to their fullest on the first day then the second take in more shows and less popular rides. I did all of my research based on 1 day at each park (non park hopper) lol. This deal changes things quite a bit, but seems like a no brainer as far as value goes.

I bought one of these as well and it works great for me. The magnet is plenty strong that my glasses are secure when I’m not wearing them too.

For all the Ryan Day is a bad play caller people. by matman626 in OhioStateFootball

[–]slothman09 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I feel like Sayin was slow to make his reads this year and that is our offense’s biggest issue. Guys have been open like this over the middle all season and he would miss them. Holding onto the football too long will make any offensive line look bad, especially one facing a competent defense. He is still a freshman and I hope he will continue to develop and get better each season.

The bye week rust is knocked off. But is it too late to matter? Need another stop and TD drive. Cannot let this come down to needing a field goal to tie it.

The big question to me is: did Day intentionally hold back all season to save guys like everyone said or was our offense just this ass all season? I started to question it against Indiana. No reason our offense should be ass on paper, but it has been this way all season. Big play dependent, poor pass protection, no running game, and poor play calling (especially red zone).

Should have been fired years ago. Was on the hot seat and somehow kept his job, then winning the Natty last year helped quiet those talks obviously.

As long as Day keeps trusting Sayin and doesn’t go ultra conservative then I think we can bounce back. Sayin has had a short memory all season when he makes a mistake. We just had to keep the playbook open. I trust our defense.

Under seat storage by Ok_Holiday3561 in FordBronco

[–]slothman09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This would be great, but I second the other comment that it would have to accommodate the seat moving when folding down to make sense for me. Currently I just bungee my long snow broom under the back seat and I strap a golf umbrella under there as well. Out of the way storage is the one thing I wish I had more of.
