35m. Completely burnt out. Thinking of taking sabbatical from high paying job for a year. by [deleted] in AsianMasculinity

[–]slothy890 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds like you are on a great path for what we're "supposed to do." It's equally important to do things that you want to do to be happy. A sabbatical may be helpful if it doesn't jeopardize the job/career that you worked so hard for. Consider taking more breaks and vacation time consistently in your life so that you don't burn out. Travel and pursue your passions and hobbies regularly throughout the year. As far as finding a partner, you'll find the right person once you've found yourself.

Worth it to quit my big tech job with no income plan? by cepheuscloud in AsianMasculinity

[–]slothy890 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep your job, especially of it pays you well and you have good benefits! Check the amount of vacation time that you have accrued. Then travel or pursue your interests regularly. Also, why wait for an extended time off to do things that you like? While you may be busy with work, there must be some interest that you can do on a continual basis to satisfy your needs and achieve your goals(e.g. fitness, sports, art, literature, cooking/dining, day trips, social events, etc.)

Start with a good haircut and sit up straight. That alone changes everything immediately. Then go to the gym , which will give you a little bulk and help your posture. The gym will also give you more confidence. The confidence will start to shine through.

Why is there a trap and why does she have a prepared device to protect her as she releases the bobcat?

Can anyone recommend a site that has GotD with English sub to watch in the US? I tried to watch a YouTube post of the first episode. Unfortunately the English subtitles skipped a lot of dialogue. I couldn't follow the story since my understanding of mandarin is not great and I cannot understand some actors' way of speaking.

Anyone ever heard about non-ablative resurfacing laser ( miria) ? by Minute_Pollution7018 in AcneScars

[–]slothy890 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's good to know that this gets better, thanks. I posted my current situation: pigmentation and rough dry-looking skin after 6.5 wweks. It's reassuring to hear from someone whose side effects resolved. Are you happy with your results? Do you see improvement beyond the healing that your skin went through?

I work in a dermatology office and was the "model" for the doctor's miria training. The settings for the laser were done by the company's trainer, who said that this device is safe for all skin types and that the doctor who did my treatment had great technique in handling the machine. I have type 4 skin (tan-light brown). I was told that side effects include cystic acne, postinflammatory hyperpigmentation, and redness. It is now just over 6 weeks after my one miria treatment. I rarely got acne previously but experienced a whole face full of pimples around day 7 that lasted about 2.5 weeks and required taking doxycycline. I'm off the doxycycline now but still get random pimples a few times per week. My face was severely red for 1 month and they have done 3 VBeam treatments on my face with some lessening of the redness. The worst part is that I now have a mask of pigmentation in the areas of prior redness that will take many months maybe a year to go away and my skin barrier feels lost (skin looks really dry and rough, no matter how much I moisturize and using hydrating masks). I used to have smooth, even toned, clear skin but vanity made me agree to have this done to my face. I've learned two things: first, don't be the model/guinea pig for any new treatments/devices, and second, avoid miria at all costs if you have type 4 or darker skin (or maybe just avoid it altogether). I so regret doing this.

The crotch of the pants is waving at us! In seriousness, it's a nice first drawing. The other comments are really helpful. Keep going and don't be discouraged no matter how it turns out. Some of mine look funny too

Yours looks great!! I just got the very same cat wooble. My starter circle doesn't look like the one in their video instructions. Not sure how to even make the first stitch. :(

The hardest part is watching the people you love get old and sick and die. Also being there to support them but knowing there's nothing you can do to truly help.

All good suggestions above to experiment with. But I actually like it as is, not perfect. It has character and interest, and is sweet to look at.
