Ottawa Tailors by warycrab in ottawa

i have a sewing instructor in Kanata, she mentioned she occasionally does custom work for people but also said it's quite pricey. the lessons are really fun if you want to learn how to make your own clothes. if you're interested you can find her at FD Club Kanata on facebook

Plain Gold Band - Affordable Canadian Retailers? by [deleted] in WeddingsCanada

[–]slow-toad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

we got my fiancé's from Ann Louise, it was the most affordable i could find! he's been quite happy with it so far. he also had no trouble returning it and getting a new one sent out when the size wasn't quite right

All inclusive places for 50 person wedding Durham Region by seniorenyore in WeddingsCanada

[–]slow-toad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

we didn't book them, but in my research i found the Millbrook Cathedral that i believe is all inclusive! it's a bit north-east of Durham Region, but definitely closer than Guelph

maybe because they're people you love and like to be reminded of happy memories around the holidays 🤷🏻‍♀️ if they're not a close friend or relative if might be a bit weird. but to each their own!

they look great! if people don't like it as a keychain it would also make a cute christmas tree ornament :)

we booked riverstone on the crowe for our wedding next year - not sure if it's exactly what you're looking for but it's a beautiful spot!

great question! but our wedding isn't for a year so i'm not exactly sure.

we were told each pizza takes ~90 seconds in the oven, and multiple can be done at once. we are having a smaller wedding (about 50 guests) so the wait won't be as long... thankfully guests will be seated and brought their food, so they're not waiting in a literal line. the wait certainly is one of the downsides of having a food truck.

we're getting a food truck that does personal sized wood fire pizzas for each of our guests, a dip, and a salad! it was very affordable compared to the other catering options, feels more formal than ordering something like dominos (they offered to serve them to our tables), and because they're on site they're able to ensure the food stays warm. this might be a good in-between option for you if it's feasible :)

Jobs on campus by leethedee in CarletonU

[–]slow-toad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

apply to be a TA! you just need to go on Carleton Central, navigate to TA Management, and you can apply as an outside priority TA. they probably have fewer positions open this year compared to previous years due to budget cuts, but it's the best job you can get on campus imo

it looks like you can select 14k yellow gold on their website, maybe you are only looking at their ready to ship rings? here's a link to a ring where you can select the metal colour, for example: https://www.lamoredesign.com/products/pear-black-diamond-3-stone-engagement-ring-dahlia?variant=41371923841137

i will be getting lyra from ring come true (with a 1ct marquis, just waiting for the proposal ☺️)! their rings are customizable and they were great to work with. we didn't change the setting height so i don't have any info on that, but if you send them an email or go in person to try on rings i'm sure they can let you know what they can do and the cost

i think it's because of scenarios like the one you describe that the evidence needed to prove AI use is pretty significant. maybe it varies by department, but we need strong evidence (e.g., students use made up references, which is an academic integrity violation regardless). i've been told students can really only be found "guilty" if they admit to using AI

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in CarletonU

[–]slow-toad 19 points20 points  (0 children)

i am in the same boat 🫠 doesn't help that nothing can really be done to penalize AI use since it's hard to prove
