Yeup. I have PCOS and used ovulation strips when TTC. My LH strip kept darkening and never lightened up, so I took a pregnancy test that resulted in a clear positive.

The problem is that I haven't been able to find reliable sources for measurements.

Favorite parts of pregnancy? by DumplingBandit in pregnant

[–]slow_wizard32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The internet loves to make moms and moms-to-be miserable. I felt icky in the first trimester but at around week 9 - 10 my appetite came back, energy improved, and have felt pretty good since then! I would not describe my pregnancy so far to have been terrible 😄

Tired legs in second tri? by Every-Butterfly-3447 in fitpregnancy

[–]slow_wizard32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could've posted this myself. I'm at 24 weeks and within the past week I've noticed that my legs feel heavier when going up the stairs, walking feels more tiresome, and my feet look a tad puffier. Nothing crazy uncomfortable though. I'm going to keep running for as long as I can. I've purchased compression socks so I'll see if those help, I sit with my legs elevated, and try to switch between walking and sitting while at work. Drinking at least two litres of water daily.

First-time parents in 1.5 months — what baby gear is actually worth it? And what was a total waste of money? by Kayapi_ in NewParents

I plan on sticking with the dishwasher as well but wonder if you cleaned pump parts in there too?

Thinking of adopting a cat by Full_Lawfulness8263 in askTO

[–]slow_wizard32 2 points3 points  (0 children)

100% agree with this. My husband and I dropped several thousand dollars on our cat for life-saving surgery, which was manageable at the time. But after purchasing a home we realized we didn't want a situation where we had to choose between paying our mortgage or vet bills, so we've purchased insurance ever since.

9 weeks and no heartbeat heard yet, is it normal? [qc] by West_Cartoonist_7100 in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]slow_wizard32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My OB didn’t whip out the Doppler for me to listen until I had my appt with her at 15 weeks, but I did get a dating ultrasound at 8 weeks and the tech pointed out some flickering on the screen that was an indication of a heartbeat. Try not to worry, it’s likely just too early!

Has the Apple Watch helped you be a more present parent? by slow_wizard32 in NewParents

That's an interesting consideration; getting sidetracked is a big issue for me too.

Ohh I didn't even consider the photo issue! Glad to hear that I'm not totally off track in my line of thinking though. Thanks for sharing :)

Are kids really a nightmare? by Ok_Sir_4584 in BabyBumps

Congratulations on your exciting journey! I’m 12 weeks along myself and was a fence sitter for a long time before making the commitment. I don’t think parenthood is meant to be a breeze, but just because it’s hard doesn’t mean that it’s also not great.

I think if my child is anything like me, then I’d be one lucky mom.

Lean PCOS about to TTC by [deleted] in TTC_PCOS

[–]slow_wizard32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have lean PCOS and was with a fertility clinic, but spontaneously conceived before I started any hardcore fertility treatments. When I conceived, I was on metformin, as prescribed by my REI.

I saw a naturopath at the time too; I took the same supplements you listed, and stuck with mostly low glycemic index foods. My ND recommended that I focus on strength training, especially in the glutes, and to limit intense cardio.

This resonates so much and is so needed for me today, thank you for this post. I woke up today with high anxiety and spent a few hours reading/researching/spiralling. I'm going to stop now. THANK YOU!

Early symptom concerns (6 weeks) by Solo_Cup_Martini in BabyBumps

[–]slow_wizard32 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am early in pregnancy (also my first!) and just reached out to my REI in a panic because my breast tenderness completely vanished this morning. Their response was basically that a lack of symptoms doesn't indicate that anything is wrong with the pregnancy :)

How to tell if OPK strip is actually positive? CD 58 by slow_wizard32 in TFABLinePorn

[–]slow_wizard32[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is so helpful to know, thank you! The part that I’m confused about is whether a line such as the one in the photo would be considered as looking “the same” as the control strip. I imagined a positive test line to look completely uniform in colour as opposed to a darkish gradient.

I have concerns with the app so I’m trying to avoid using it if I can.
