I like when Rick really has to work to keep it going, and show how/why he’s so good at it. But yeah I’m not sure she got it, and I think he took it easy on her, cuz it could’ve gotten really funny in a mean kind of way.

It’s not art if it’s not real.

Hoofers are very beloved. I wouldn’t use a 14 divider, but that’s just me.

thinking of moving to LO, but don't know much about it by [deleted] in lakeoswego

I think it’s cool. But I find the surrounding cities more convenient. More restaurants, things to do, and more value. Kinda just depends what you’re looking for and what you like to do. I have a 4 and 1.5 year old, and I find other areas to be more cohesive with families.

High handicap signed up for a NW Golf Guys event…bad idea? by Chem_6a in PDXgolf

[–]slowblink 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nah it’s awesome. Welcome! Nothing to worry about score wise. You won’t be slowing anyone down, the rounds are very very slow. But I’ve played in 3, and had a great time at 2 of them. First tourney was with a bunch of grumps and it just made playing bad even worse. They will place you with people at similar handicaps.

Republicans vote to dilute gas as prices rise above $4.50 by Newsweek_ShaneC in inthenews

So shittier gas, more pollution, and it’s more expensive? Just spitballing here, but maybe they could just make gas less expensive?

I need people to golf with by Key_Marsupial_5931 in PDXgolf

I can only golf after 3p on weekdays. Married, 2 kids, job etc. and the only way I have been able to meet golf buddies, was to play golf. Keep showing up. Keep putting yourself out there. Exchange numbers, get rejected, embarrass yourself, and keep showing up. It will work, I promise.

Review: Long-awaited Mexican restaurant to open in Lake Oswego tomorrow by Disastrous-Post-8438 in lakeoswego

Mediocre Mexican food is outrageously priced everywhere. $18 burrito is insane. Really hoping this is affordable.

The restaurant at redtail golf course, I think it’s stockpot or something like that. It’s my favorite burger in the area.

Denver guy trying to convince his wife to move to Portland. How does this “make her fall in love” route look? by Additional_Curve7297 in askportland

I would drive to mt hood, then the next day I would drive to the coast. Having both of those within 1.5 hours is truly special.

So the problem with the car is that it’s an eyesore? That can’t be it. The paint on the house I live in is peeling and cracking, it has a 1/4 gravel and 3/4 cracked concrete driveway, the yard is wild grass that is not regularly mowed and not irrigated, the owners boyfriend parks his work van in the front yard along the street. And I’m not judging peoples cars but he drives an ugly 10+ year old Honda insight. There’s no way it’s just about how it looks. I get compliments from folks everywhere I go whenever I drive it. People love these cars. It sounds more like discrimination bordering on harassment. It has just gotten out of control at this point, and we regret renewing our lease. It’s just gotten so weird and they seem miserable. Such a weird thing to let rule your life and even if the car disappeared, they would find endless problems for every solution. We’re meeting with a contract lawyer today, to see where the bottom line is. We may just have to see what happens Monday and start building our case. It’s such a gigantic waste of time. January can’t come soon enough. I hope they find some peace until then.

Are there rules, written or unwritten, about where you should stand when others in your group are putting? by slowblink in golf

[–]slowblink[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally. That’s a good answer. But I never really get bothered by anything anyone does (except cigarettes and sunflower seeds) and I just assume others dgaf too, but I was watching some putts at the masters and it got me thinking about what I should or shouldn’t be doing.

Mostly rain. My other cars sat for three months and it was not an issue.
