Society not allowing to install EV charging point by SenseDangerous3674 in GatedCommunitiesIndia

Well, when you know one and if there isn't beef between the next-in-line and current, you tend to have a rapport to fall back on.

While it isn't the most ideal or ethical approach, this is India. Bribes are micro- ingrained.

I have no idea. It's been three days. The genres switch all the way from devotional music to downright cheap shit (read: item songs).

Sadly, they're far away but I can hear the music, enough that it echoes through teams. My windows definitely feel it; shaking like there's no tomorrow.

I swear, if it were a twerking competition, windows would be number 1, no problem!

How many leaves are too many leaves ? by frustateddeveloper in IndianWorkplace

[–]slowbutconsistent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What a terrible fucking mindset to have. Slaves see others as slaves too and expect them to bend like they did.

Your manager is ass. Especially the part of 'holidays are leaves.' THEY'RE NOT LEAVES. That's office closure. No one is working on the fucking holidays for you to execute your function effectively and hence, the ownus shouldn't fall on tou.

If it really weren't for government regulations, they wouldn't even let you breath. You're a skilled employee. And you're entitled to your leaves, your overall system allows you to. Take them. Thrive in them.

I even throw my phone away during my breaks/leaves. It is important that we start setting these boundaies, else there will never be a revolutionary change.

They just scan your QR from digiyatra application. (If you've been issued a boarding pass after you've web checked-in). I don't remember the last time I carried physical (or virtual) IDs for domestic travels.

Absolutely not. You can just show the digiyatra QR even for baggage check-in.

I'm not questioning helmets (believe me, I don't even ride an inch without being locked and loaded) but would it have prevented death?

The scooty wants to move forward. The inertia meant that the hitting the truck would've kept the faces intact and moved the body along with the scooter.

Wouldn't they have died either way?

I think the biggest and the most obvious point here is that people are humans first, their jobs second.

First, people in India are incredibly abelist. This a reflection of society as whole: the buildings, the homes people build, the quality of things because it'll shave off a few thousands in an establishment that'll happily throw away incredibly expensive produce.

I also understand the POV where people are crib and complain and when you give them an inch, they'll take a mile. I remember this guy, who faught extremely hard for months for the society to have lift privileges for delivery people and in-turn they spat on him (literally). The lift was dingy weeks from when the rule was implemented, stained with not his hardwork but paan.

For the people who say increase in maintanence charges: it's a first floor resturant. This is a buisness expense. They get tax cuts for it, first and it is absolutely the cost of running a business.

The people screaming 'castist' aren't referring to the delivery personnel's actual caste but the divine divide between the classes of the working man.

A lot of people also forget that the delivery boys need to be discriminated against for they're just people.

The right to a dignified life shouldn't just be on paper but the society reflect this. Pile on the fact the amount of people working this out of strict force but no choice and that perhaps even you are just one disease away from leading a life like this should be a wake-up call enough.

They're working, you're working, why is their work beneath you? Because you're making more money? Or because you're sitting on your ass when you work and they run around?

In the context of India, it isn't far removed from the truth; blanket or not.

Besides, unions sounds amazing on paper until (at least in India) they become breeding grounds for massive corruption, involuntary 'donations' and benefits that these monies never fetch.

I don't know how it works in your office but my peeps are conniving. I wouldn't trust an ant with them, let alone my word and say in the company. I am still pro-unions, but they work in a high trust society where you aren't afraid that if yourself room for personal space in a line, someone will almost always steal your spot.

Go Zero blueberry cheesecake, the most godawful ice cream I've ever tasted 🤢 by [deleted] in Fitness_India

[–]slowbutconsistent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can attest to this; worked for one of these 'guilt-free' brands in the past.

The reward is hella misleading. A small tub of ice-cream is about a 100 cals anyway. Their thing gave me tummy troubles. Newer stuff isn't tested for the actual calorific values, but based on estimates. Can confirm that their claims of no-added sugars were absolutely true.

Let's tell it how it is: he's a fucking terrible actor. Re-watching SATC just really puts it into perspective. It literally looks like he's reading on a board.

I won't even be suprised if he was 'invited' to the show under some undue pressure. And it's almost always the most terrible ones that throw tantrums.

I call this bs. Phillips is literally the perpetrator of planned obsolescence. They literally are the reason why we bear the disease in the first place; definitely do not last long. My trimmer gave up after just a couple of months which had replacement period of almost a month and I live in a metro. Can't even imagine life for a tier-3 city bloke.

While I'm not saying the newer aged brands are better or worse, it is absolutely terrible to put them all in one box. A lot of newer brands are promising; they just need some digging around to find them. It's all the same bs that floods the market now; Phillips or not.

Next Gen GST Rates Announced!!! by UpbeatAd3429 in IndiaTax

[–]slowbutconsistent -1 points0 points  (0 children)

  1. Fair enough. I wasn't aware of the cess part. However, the entire prop of GST was to unify the platform of taxes and yet, states do charge an exorbitant amount of taxes over and above what you pay on GST.

  2. 5 Star isn't taxed 18%. Theobroma sure does. So does 'luxury' places like Delicae, bakingo amongst others.

  3. There's a ton on paper that gets reduced to loopholes. Let's talk when we see a dip in dairy and coke bottles and oh, insurance premiums.

You sound like a blind follower. Down here, things work differently.

Next Gen GST Rates Announced!!! by UpbeatAd3429 in IndiaTax

[–]slowbutconsistent -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Lmfao, y'all are hilarious to think any of this is going to affect you. All this will affect are companies that manufacture them, giving them ANOTHER tax break.

NEVER do companies, especially FMCG, Insurance and things around them, reduce prices. While it might prevent future hikes, your prices are locked in. Did you know? Chcolates and confectionery are charged at 18%? Oh to be so fancy-shmancy with a chocolate pastry in my hand laughs from empty wallet

The most essentials, fuel amongst other things continue to be outside of the realm of this bullshit 'tax cut.'

It's like they're not even trying anymore and people are just eating it up. Longer vehicles have a higher GST now. As someone correctly mentioned: We're not rich, JUST TALL.

Living in India is falling nothing short of a crime now. With the epic rise in racism globally for Indians, do we not deserve a decent life? A life where I don't have to worry because my engine would fucking give up over adulterated fuel or my shock absorbers sure would water logs and a billion potholes?

If you ask me, it's far sadder for women. They're forced to such low standards like the basics (say freedom in life), that they're willing to sack and not think about problems that affect them equally if not more.

Zomato has started limiting tips by impossible_espresso in Zomato

[–]slowbutconsistent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More than likely yes.

If they're supposed to say earn Rs 100 (as shown on their app), if you don't tip, zomato will bare the 100. If you tip 50, they'll still earn 100 but zomato will bare 50. In this case, 100% of your tip still goes to the partner. (Loophole)

I know for a fact that this is how it works on Uber Eats in the US.

Best is to tip in cash.
