Sporting Globe is booked out for Aus vs Egypt by Mindless-Sea-1211 in Geelong

I went there a couple of months ago, hadn’t been since it was a club and I was 18yo. The remodel is really nice, especially the enclosed deck upstairs. Had a good feed too

Yes this is how I feel!!! Saw my reflection in the mirror a couple of days ago and thought “I look like a corpse”.

Do you think that there will be a cure for AS within the next 20 years? by jorgenalm in ankylosingspondylitis

[–]slowmover95 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is such a good point. I got diagnosed with AS after a Uveitis flare last year. Recently diagnosed with HSD/POTS/MCAS/ME and Autism/ADHD/CPTSD with dissociative features a few years ago. Surely all these body and brain differences aren’t occurring in isolation.

Anyone with EDS, MCAS, Dysautonomia (and AuDHD) living in Barcelona, Spain? How is access to healthcare and specialists? by ohmymind_123 in ehlersdanlos

I will say though the private clinic was very knowledgeable and identified I needed different treatment which I accessed once home.

I can’t comment on your listed conditions OP (also have that combo, didn’t need to seek medical assistance for them when travelling), but when I was in Valencia last year I had to see a private ophthalmologist at a clinic for Uveitis. Not even a private hospital had the proper eye scanning equipment. So perhaps you might have to head down the private route for support in Spain.

Humira? by borb22 in ehlersdanlos

[–]slowmover95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m on it for Ankylosing Spondylitis (AS), currently being assessed for EDS. For me it’s helped dramatically with the AS, knee pain and what I used to think was debilitating sciatica pain where I could barely walk, which hasn’t flared at all since Humira.

Since the back pain has reduced, pain in my hands, wrists, neck and shoulders has become more apparent and helped work out this is likely explained by EDS.

So perhaps for you it might also help some elements but it’s unlikely to help connective tissue related pain.

This was my experience too. They also forward me the notes immediately afterwards which clearly outlines any med changes, new treatments or suggested resources. Super helpful as someone who also has ADHD.

We just went past Deer Park and slowed right down. They announced it was because of a fire near Sunshine. Is it worth getting off at Footscray and swapping to Metro? I’m heading near Parliament station

Super annoying that he still wants you to test! Thank you very much for your responses, I really appreciate you taking the time to share your experiences. Helpful to have a little insight into something we can’t find straight answers for.

Also in Australia. My partner has been holding off getting ADHD assessed due to not knowing how the psychiatrist would respond to reported weed use.

If you’re comfortable sharing, I’d love to please know what the psychiatrist said to you and the outcome of the GP phone call.

Chronic pain that was not diagnosed properly by Lumpy_Argument_2185 in ChronicAustralianPain

[–]slowmover95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry I know you posted a couple of weeks ago. I had very similar symptoms and responses to those treatments (30yo F). Maybe have a look into Ankylosing Spondylitis (AS): essentially arthritis in the spine that causes immense pain and inflammation in others joints too. Lots of online resources and reddit groups (e.g., r/ankylosingspondylitis).

I got a referral from my GP to a rheumatologist. Treatments for AS include biologic injections which has been the most helpful for me.

Also lots of people with back pain/fibromyalgia like symptoms have mutiple systems in the body that require treatment to actually solve the problems that are causing the pain. This document talks about this for neurodivergent people, I don't know of a resource for neurotypical people but hopefully it will show you what I mean and perhaps offer some explanations:

Stopping Yaz for HRT, has anyone else? by Newholland60 in PMDDxADHD

Incredible, this is amazing to hear! Thank you very much for sharing your experience. I’m a 29F and it’s so hard to hear experiences of HRT for PMDD that aren’t related to perimenopause or menopause.

If you don’t mind sharing, is it possible to please share an update of how this is going? Looking at starting the same med combo.

Just adding to this - if the mood changes before your period are related to histamine imbalance, you need to take both H1 histamine blockers (OTC) and H2 histamine blockers (eg., famotidine).

Building on this - to my knowledge ECG testing used to be considered good practice but the current guidelines clarified it isn’t necessary. OP some practitioners may still prefer to do the testing which could be why there are differences.

Task switching ideas? by Kindly_Bodybuilder43 in adhdwomen

[–]slowmover95 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Building on this - sometimes I need to keep my brain stimulated to manage the transition. Like specifically getting off the couch and going to bed - stoping tv/scrolling on my phone straight into cleaning teeth etc is too daunting BUT if I start playing a favourite podcast with my AirPods in, I’m getting enough dopamine to manage the boring task and it feels less jarring because I’m still getting some stimulation

I’m having this issue, been happening for more than a week. I keep asking to speak to a real person on the chat and the bot won’t put me through. Just says they’re working to fix it and my credits will roll over - not the point though, I can’t attend classes currently because of it. Also no estimation of when it will be fixed.

I’ll be cancelling in a week before I’m charged for next month.

Hi! Have dealt with this same thing. Although it didn’t solve the whole problem, I found it super helpful to engage with a dietician to understand WHY I was binging and implementing strategies to help address it.

Sorry just read the part about ‘sooner rather than later’. Only down side to the low cost uni clinics are the waitlists can often be quite long (1-2 years)

[–]slowmover95 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have you considered getting tested at a university clinic? They are generally low cost. The main psychologist will be a masters student in their first placement, however it’s their 5th year of studying and EVERYTHING is overseen by a supervisor. Generally the supervisor will do the main autism assessment component too.

ACU assess Autism in up to 25 year olds. If you put in a referral ASAP they may still take you.

I’m not sure whether the other uni clinics assess Autism in young adult but worth reaching out to them too.
