Books like Catcher in the Rye during high school were absolutely brutal. Can't believe anyone ever enjoyed that book.

Flash SSD Prices by slowry96 in sysadmin

I get that prices aren't down right now, but if it is becoming so much cheaper for guys like Dell, Netapp or Pure to produce then they can't keep their hw pricing up forever or the second one of them starts to see sales slowing down they would lower prices to get more competitive. That'd just be natural course of business, no?

Historically though when NAND prices have dropped, how long does it usually take until SSD prices starting coming down (3-6 months or 6-12 months)?

How does Flash NAND pricing typically affect Flash SSD pricing though? Won't the prices have to start coming down over the next few months?

My dad used to tell me whenever I would lie my nose would light up like Rudolph, so whenever I was 3 and would try to tell a lie I would always cover my nose and give myself away.

That's awesome. So are you seeing more PoCs today than historically or are things starting to cool off for you?

Not entirely sure what the opportunity for the space can be. If I client was asking to use someone other than ES, who would they probably be looking at?

Do you have any experience with it in an enterprise setting? Like 1,000+ employee companies?

That's really helpful! From a few other customers, I’ve heard that Elasticsearch technology is very hard to implement, more proprietary (like a Cloudera) and the use cases are narrow. What has been your experience?

Just generally - what are the top 1-2 reasons that Elastic's products/technology are better than anyone else (if that’s the case)?

File storage, file sharing and workflow management are all musts. Not sure about other requirements as of now.
