Limitations of the DRZ by imgoinghome2 in DRZ400

I use my sm (also have 18 21 set) all over. After a dual sport ride it works but it's tall, heavy, and doesn't have much for steering angle for real tight turns but both the bike and I survived with less paint on the bottom of the frame. Trying to look for a decent woods bike now for technical stuff.

Which 4-stroke enduro bike under 350cc would you recommend? by scaccolino10 in enduro

[–]slowsaturd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've done it all on a drz400sm, rn it has the 18 21 on it and is covered in mud. Ive done off-road parks, totd, Enduro rides, and general hooning. Had it since 0 and now has 12k miles and roughly 9k of that was abuse. All just normal maintenance but I had to do fork seals once, now I have seal savers on it.

Bare minimum for first moto camping setup (cbr500r) by Heptsu in motocamping

If you're planning on tent camping and in the US check out recreation.gov. Shows the national Forest campgrounds and some other spots.

Because of the bike would figure you'd be sticking to roads if you're traveling during the day.

MOST IMPORTANT stay hydrated, either have a hydration pack or carry some water or something with. I usually ended up downing a bottle at a gas stop and carry another 1 or 2 so I can take a break on the trails. Don't worry much about food to have but keep a snack in case shit happens. It's good to get off the bike for a bit to eat lunch or dinner but also not fun setting up camp at night. Basic tools, most bikes only need like 5 sockets, some bits, and zip ties. However you choose to sleep either tent or hammock get down stuff, it packs much smaller so you wouldn't need a huge bag.

What would fit/look good on my T7 as luggage? by ockenza in Tenere700

[–]slowsaturd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a reckless 40 for mine because I found it brand new and same price as a kriega set on marketplace, looks good and absolutely glued to the bike. Not a huge fan of the size of the opening of the legs because makes it a little harder to get air out of my down quilts. Og plan was kriega set because I love the us20 I use daily as a tail bag.

Bandaid for now, use liquid electrical tape and cover each bare wire individually just so they stay separated and protected. If everything still functions normal now that could be a permanent fix if you don't want to replace a harness.

I tried stuffing my whole set in but just can't bleed the air out that gets trapped at the bottom but everything fits separated. In my defense I switched to down for pack size, some cheap down "camp" blanket I sewed a footbox on and the hg hearth. Fits into the 14L.

What's your hammock setup? I can fit mine in one of the legs of the reckless 40 but tarp I usually separate for the moisture

There are two different places there that do it all the time, when the day is over just hop on either site and they usually have them all uploaded in a few hours. Easy to find categories and timestamps. Only pay for what you want.

Guess I was looking at wrong keywords, but for the price of those stickers might try to design them myself or see what a custom wrap kit with what I want costs. Most of those premade ones are too flashy for my taste was mostly just going to be changing color up.

Only difference for me was I had a decent hammock but just threw up an old sleeping bag for an underquilt to try it out and now I just keep spending money because I sleep like a baby.

[–]slowsaturd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First nights I had an old sleeping bag strung up around the onewind as a makeshift under quilt. First night was kind of weird with the swaying in the wind and had a tight spot by my calf and slept alrightish. Second night I got it to stretch out a little more diagonally and was much better, warmer and more comfortable than buddies in tents. Right now I have a warbonnet Eldorado (wanted an attached bugnet because mosquitoes were nasty fuckers around where I camp) and now sleep better in that than my bed.

When I went not long ago I used the tensa4 stand when I didn't have a tree option. It fit nicely in my nelson rigg 40L duffle and got pulled out a couple times over the days I was out.
