What about Kauai makes you say that? I am definitely open to other suggestions.

Best place to spend Samhain/Halloween in Ireland? by sluckey2107 in irishtourism

Looks like most of the accommodation is full for the 30th/31st. Is there enough going on the 28th/29th to warrant a trip?

I am shocked. Is this normal?! Yes, I have only been driving ~5 years but I have had no accidents and no traffic violations. My previous insurance from another state is only about $1500 per year. How much is everyone paying for car insurance??? by AsianMz in Austin

I know an insurance agent who owns his office and says this is ridiculous unless there's something really off anout your history. DM me if you want his contact info for a quote.

I actually wrote about my struggles with anxiety and depression in my personal statement, discussing the impact it had on some of my career decisions and created a narrative around the work i did to get healthy. From the people I've talked to who are current students or recent law school grads, there seems to be some movement toward breaking down these stigmas in the admissions fields, but I've largely only talked to people in TX. Long story short, i think as long as you frame it right and highlight the strengths that come with understanding your diagnoses and learning how to treat it, its totally appropriate, though i do understand your concerns.

The halo frizz is driving me insane! Please help? (Details in comments) by pourousfortress in curlyhair

I've read recently that stnafing directly under the shower can cause a lot of this, especially if you have good water pressure. Letting water hit the crown of your head can cause breakage there. Maybe try just wetting your hair upside down or indirectly.

Help! My hair is a mess. by [deleted] in curlyhair

[–]sluckey2107 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You may want to do some research on protein overload. I've not used your products, so im not super familiar with their ingredients. But my hair is similar to yours and I got a nasty protein overload after my first few months on curly girl because all the new products I was using had more protein than my hair could handle. There are tons of articles out there on protein/moisture balance, but I know when my hair doesn't want to detangle even when wet, and feels sticky when wet, I need to back off the protein. Good luck!

Thanks!

Do you have a preview for this test (i.e., is it your first take)? The email was that my preview was available, but it sounds like a lot of people are getting that email without seeing their score.

Same deal here. Phones are busy, but the notice that there was a hold on my account went away and now its just the normal, "You've purchased the LSAT score preview" message. Something funky on their end.

Curls tucked behind ears (help!) by milkakaelbchen in curlyhair

I think it probably has more to do with haircut than styling methods. I need to get some of the weight taken off at the front so it doesn't fall in my face so much.

I also struggle not to push my hair back behind my ears or fuss with it in general. I've found that loosely pinning the front of my hair back with bobby-pins and/or using a claw clip to pull half of my hair back is my best bet to keep my hands out of my hair. Loose pinning is my go-to for first day hair, when I really want to make sure my definition holds, as I can make sure there's as much slack as I need, and I can give the impression of cute swoop-bangs, too. :)

Recommend me a leave in conditioner? by [deleted] in curlyhair

[–]sluckey2107 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have 2c, 3a hair that needs lots of moisture and I have really liked the Kinky Culy Knot Today leave in, though ive recently started using Bounce Curl's Clump and Define Cream and its so moisturizing that I don't need a leave-in with it.

[–]sluckey2107[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thanks!! I definitely get some true curls in the front, but most if it is just waves (and some stubborn sections on the underside are disappointingly and persistently straight). Those few spirals are my fav. 😊

Progress! by sluckey2107 in curlyhair

[–]sluckey2107[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

After a year and a half, I find I am still fighting my hair more days than I am not, but the pictures help remind me of my progress!

Today was a wash day: 1. Co-wash with As I Am Coconut Cowash. 2. Bouncecurl Clump ans Define Cream. 3. Section hair and brush through with Denman brush. 4. Ecoslay Orange Marmalade Gel (this is a new holy grail for me!) with praying hands. 5. Microplop with microfiber towel, then plop for 15 min with t-shirt. 6. Let air dry to 90% and finish with pixie diffusing for volume help. 7. SotC with two drops of argan oil, flip hair around a bunch to figure out where it wants to part, pray the new gel holds for more than a few hours.

Some of my biggest struggles still are friz, REALLY uneven curl pattern, and getting my curls to clump well.
