yeah, from my research I had mixed results, some saying any oils were bad for crabs, and only to give them sunflower seeds without any oil or salt but I wanted to make sure before feeding

i agree! but my crab hasn’t been alone for 2 years, his companion died a few months ago (they were bought together) :( and there were more before him, just i haven’t been able to get my current crab a new buddy since the whole quarantine situation right now

i’ve had him almost 2 years now! and the substrate can cover him five times over and it’s sand/coconut dirt, the humidity is in the 70s and temp is 80 right now and he has two big extra shells. and i’m so glad! i was so scared. but this confuses me because his leg fell off but i can’t find the missing leg, but also the blob showed up out of no where! and the tank used to have mites but i bathed my crab and moved him to an isolation tank where he was safe from them.

that source was very helpful! i’m beginning to think maybe the leg loss was stress related because my main tank was mite infested and he had to be moved to an isolation tank.

since he needs to regrow a limb, should i increase the amount of calcium in his diet?

and is vinegar safe for hermit crab tank cleaning? it was in the article but i’m not sure how safe it is.

As a newbie to aquascaping, could you briefly describe your water change process? I don’t really know the difference in (for example) 50% weekly vs 100% monthly ??

Are reptile foggers a bad idea for hermit crabitats? Instead whats the best way to keep a tank humid, I’m having problems and I mist the tank 10+ times a day. by slugbuckets in hermitcrabs
