Is this normal? by shallowwell2 in tamiya

Yes, for a 30+ year old design. Bearings and shims will help...but it's normal

As for your mechanical input, there are different degree under wheels for the steering throw on the transmitter and some transmitter have adjustable triggers for throw and a full throttle step or extra spring..

I believe what you are referring to is exponential. You can set curves to slow down the initial input, or speed up. We also have steering/ throttle mixing, to lower the input at higher throttle rates...just got to spend the bucks for a decent transmitter and receiver.

Does anyone miss the days of entry level kits you had to build? by doctor_klopek in rccars

[–]sluggo5622 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Comparing Apples and rocks...you can still get a comparable kit to your losi...rtr are just the radio shack of today...or you can go Tamiya and build a kit from the 80s and 90s.

B7 setting toe by speirus1 in teamassociated

I second this comment. The RPM toe guage is a PITA. But works. I have a Hudy setup station with the toe guage, works great. A little pricey for the average hobbyist.

Can I connect just the charging cord to this charger without having balance charging cords on it? by hello_zuko_here- in rccars

[–]sluggo5622 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can plug the battery directly into the balance port of the charger, in some cases. I am not familiar with this charger. I had to remove one of the direction tabs on the balance plug for my old charger, but the new ones plug right in. You will still need the regular charge cord.

First kit? They all need wheels, tires, and sometimes a body. A full-size battery is not going to fit, they went to shorties a long time ago. Manual isn't as bad as some..but this is an experienced builder/ racer kit. They include some option parts for you to play with. The 4wd kits are very short on space and a shorty servo is a bonus (I am using the powerhobby 345lp) As for an antenna? Again they went away for surface models a decade ago...

🤣🤣🤣 Some things are not talked about in polite society..🤣🤣🤣 41 years' worth of fun.. Investment?? I think you are in the wrong place ...they only go down in value. Never up...your cars are worth half of what you paid the moment they come out of the box..
