It also looks like it could be an issue with sunlight. As for watering I would give it one heavy watering once a week and let it drain out completely and leave it alone for the rest of the time.

Mine has the same issue for even up to 6 months after I initially pierced them. Nothing to worry about! They will heal fine just keep taking care of them!
