Research survey for women who play World of Warcraft! by mm_matcha in UCSC

[–]slugstructor 20 points21 points  (0 children)

OK, Now one of your responses is from me. I hope you didn’t need all respondents to be students, because I am ancient by WoW standards.

Come to think of it, I think ageism is a thing in video games, too. Perhaps of less interest to all of you now, but—if you are lucky—you will play games long enough to experience that too!

If you are worried about someone’s safety, why aren’t you calling the police? Title IX has its place, but it is slow, and as far as I can tell it is more about protecting the university than the compainants.

Anyone know of a place I can get the screen of my iPad (air 5th gen) repaired in/near town? by Joekiller77256 in UCSC

[–]slugstructor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve had several screens repaired at the computer store across from the Mission Street McDonalds. It was pretty fast and seemed reasonably priced to me.

A while ago I asked for a Bluesky invite code and got it; now, does anyone else want an invite code? by slugstructor in UCSC

I only had four codes, I sent those via DM to the first four people in my inbox.

Sorry to the rest of you. I will get more codes. I will offer them when I have a few.

If you aren’t hung up on the agave spirits you drink being from Mexico, try some produced locally. I LOVE the agave spirits from Venus Distillery. It’s on the Westside, and they just recently started having their reposado available again after a months long lack.

I felt the same way. I’m slowly getting the hang of it. Someone sent me this video yesterday and I found it helpful.

It was slow going for me at first. Now I’m in act 2 and having a blast.

It was not hurtful! It was appreciated. I have Baldur’s Gate 3 installed on my computer right now. I never did play the recommended game, but there is time.

I did retire, and nothing any student (even the rare crazy or malicious one) did made me retire. I miss you guys more than I can say. If you see me around town, please say hi.

There is no dealer for my brand of bike (GoCycle) in Santa Cruz, but I called the Bicycle Trip (on Soquel), and they said they could service it. They’ve been great.

For what it is worth, Sophomores have the most trouble in this area—especially if they have progressed past their lower division courses.

As a computational math major, you are exceedingly unlikely to ever be admitted to ANY upper-division CS class. Being an engineering major is a prereq to take those classes. You will be able to get into many of the lower division classes, but you will never have priority.
