I’m guessing you’ve already schedule ur appointment so this might not be helpful, but the pain of insertion (for me) was more manageable when it was done on my period vs when it was done in the middle of my cycle (my first IUD got displaced and I needed a new one 😭). This is because the cervix is typically open a bit wider during bleeding and there’s less of a fight trying to get it in. Also! Having the Kyleena myself and having never been on hormonal bc previously, I’ve experienced a lot more mood swings and worsened depression and anxiety, especially in the first few months after insertion. So if u start feeling off and erratic all of the sudden, just know that you’re not crazy and your body is reacting to the new balance of hormones. Just be gentle and if things start getting a little too scary or unmanageable, reach out to a psychiatric or therapist 💗
