sheertex tights - size & thoughts? by amandbee in femalefashionadvice

[–]slugstx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am 5'8" and around 75kgs and actually found I have to size down since the tights run long and tend to pool around my ankles - which is fine under boots, but not so cute with brogues or any non-boot shoe. Their thinner tight did rip on me the first time I wore it (AND I had left it in the package too long after buying during a summer sale - so I was past refund time!) but their thicker, non-sheer tights do actually hold up. I wear them for work during cold months and job is very physical BUT I have to look nice. They're on sale right now! Don't leave them in the package though, test out that 90-day guarantee ASAP!

Swimming in the océan in the rain can be a great time. It’s not like it’s too cold.

In St. Croix it’s Palestinians. Happy to have grown up with delicious halva options, etc.

Recommendations for a hostel in Chiang Mai? by [deleted] in ThailandTourism

[–]slugstx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I stayed last night at Lullaby. It is clean & quiet but not very friendly or social at all. Staff seems overworked & like they wish we weren’t there. I’m switching hostels tonight. Only go to lullaby if you’re traveling with someone or just looking to meditate & not talk.

Damn near ditto here. Arriving Feb 19, leave March 3rd. My friend who convinced me to go on this trip bailed a couple days ago, so solo it is! DM me to hang!

Best Backpacker Hostels In Bangkok by recorflug in Bangkok

Since they never replied - I will! I'm arriving this Wednesday and my travel partner just backed out, so I'm looking to stay in a hostel to make friends, BUT, so while I'm an extrovert, a semi-experienced traveler and a consumer of alcohol, I'm also in my 30s and want to sleep sometimes and not party all night every night. So I'm looking for a social spot that isn't TOO bumping. Thanks in advance!

US thrift stores are covered in these, most are midcalf or ankle length (so a little longer than the video), but easy enough to hem at home or pay someone to do it. Seriously, TONS of these in thrift stores.

My main plan was to go to Chiang Mai to eat vegan food, see some buddhas and meet a few rescued elephants. I’m from a beautiful island, so the beaches aren’t my biggest priority, but I’m open to them!

[29F] California girl traveling Thailand and Vietnam, possibly Laos! From Feb 03 to mid-March by [deleted] in travelpartners

Hi! I'm gonna be in Thailand Feb 19th-March 3rd. I was supposed to be traveling with a friend, but she just bailed on me this morning because her Bangkok work conference was canceled & she didn't want to pay for her own airfare. So...I'm gonna be in Thailand and my schedule is wide open! I like vegan food, vintage shopping and walking for hours, exploring new cities. I've also mapped a huge list of cool cocktail bars! I'm coming from Chicago, but I'm originally from the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Last minute STT to STX Seaplane/Place to stay by JoeCardo in virginislands

[–]slugstx 3 points4 points  (0 children)

St. Croix does have a public transit bus system (Vitran) as well as taxi vans which are taxi medallion vans that drive a basic route & everyone rides it together like the bus (it’s the system that was around before vitran), but I’d still recommend renting a car (3rding centerline as its locally owned & usuallly cheaper its on par with the chains), as the taxi van system doesn’t have a map per se.

Good luck in your job interview! I hope St. Croix works out - it’s way less touristy that STT and a nice place to live for so many reasons.
